As a police detective investigates Annie's death, Claire is asked about the suicide note. Claire makes it very clear to the detective that she did not see a note on Annie's pillow specifically because she remembered thinking "how crisp her pillowcase was".
Hysterical Blindness
It is revealed that Rebecca Taylor placed the suicide note on Annie's pillow after killing Annie and after Claire had discovered her body.
