Bret has worked as an editor and production assistant for NBC Channel Six Action News in San Luis Obispo. He also acted in and co-produced Shades of Hope.

- Bret came to work for Heroes through his friend, tactical advisor Weston Higgins. They met during Bret's senior project at California State University, Northridge, when Weston helped make a large-scale Vietnam movie called Shades of Hope.
