Subcat names

  • Is there a reason Ryan put to make the new categories with "CatGN<category>" instead of "Graphic Novel <category>"? I thought we were going to spell out the names and not use acronyms for categories... I was going to do the split for the cats to mirror the portals, but after seeing the suggested cat name I decided to ask first.—MiamiVolts (talk) 03:46, 13 March 2008 (EDT)
    • Subcat names are just redirects. There's not one redirect from an included portal to a category that I know of that uses a fully spelled-out name. Really, I could have called it "redirect to GN homes category" or even "GNHomesRedirectionality,Yo!" and it all would have accomplished the same thing. However, I'm wondering if we should even have those individual categories, or if we're better off just having Category:Graphic Novel Residences and that's it. I know the episodes have categories for apartments and homes, but we don't necessarily need to follow suit. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 06:54, 13 March 2008 (EDT)
      • Ah, thanks for the explanation. I understand now that we need to make both the redirect categories "CatGN<category>" and the full name categories (i.e. "Graphic Novel Houses", "Graphic Novel Apartments" and "Graphic Novel Other Residences") if we want to match how we've done it in the episodes. My opinion is that we should follow suit. It makes more sense to me for at least the category structure to be the same. Are you opposed to doing so?—MiamiVolts (talk) 15:30, 13 March 2008 (EDT)
