Synopsis

  • Will be home late tonite so if someone wants to tackle the synopsis, go ahead. Otherwise I'll try to get it late tonite or sometime tomorrow. (Admin 12:13, 8 October 2007 (EDT))
    • I can probably go ahead and do it. I don't work Monday nights anymore, and I don't really care for the MNF game, so I can knock out the general stuff.--Bob 12:15, 8 October 2007 (EDT)
      • I emphatically do not want to do the synopsis tonight...However, my wife is working and I don't have to go to work until a little later than usual tomorrow, so I'll have a bit of extra time to help out. Bob, if you want me to do links, cleanup, etc., just let me know when you're done and I'll get to it. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 12:17, 8 October 2007 (EDT)
        • Yeah sure thing. I'll probably type it as the episode airs, and then go over it one last time to double check anything I missed. Thanks.--Bob 12:20, 8 October 2007 (EDT)

Just a heads up.

I got the mark done. I didn't see it on the checklist. Definitely shocked me a little, as well as the 8th painting.--Riddler 22:08, 8 October 2007 (EDT)

  • I updated Debbie's page with the basic details of her appearance. --LeoChris 00:38, 9 October 2007 (EDT)

Prisoner's Car

The escaped prisoner's car is notably a Nissan Rogue with a California license plate. It bears a striking resemblance to Claire's stolen car. A note should probably be made to this effect, both in the synopsis and on the Nissan Rogue page.--Paronine 22:41, 8 October 2007 (EDT)

  • Isn't the bumper sticker the logo for Claire's high school?--Bob 22:46, 8 October 2007 (EDT)
    • I don't know. It said "GO CONQUISTADORS!" Is that the name of the school's mascot?--Paronine 22:51, 8 October 2007 (EDT)
      • Yes.--LeoChris 23:00, 8 October 2007 (EDT)
        • It is undoubtedly Claire's car. However, we shouldn't jump to that conclusion quite yet. Luckily the article just says "Nissan Rogue", not "Claire's car", so the appearance can absolutely go on that page, so long as we just report what was seen, and not what we believe it was....unless of course we can match the license plates. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:20, 8 October 2007 (EDT)
          • Thought of that. In Four Months Later, they only show the first digit (2), which does match. They don't show it at all in Lizards. However, JJ Philbin and Zach Quinto are very straightforward about the fact that it's Claire's car in the commentary. They kind of say it like it's a given.--Hardvice (talk) 06:33, 9 October 2007 (EDT)

Lead image

I suggest Claire and West sitting on the beach, since they were, after all, kindred spirits. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:21, 8 October 2007 (EDT)

  • I think I'd go with Takezo saying goodbye to Hiro. It's just a nice scene, and since it's a still frame you can't tell they're saying goodbye =P--Riddler 23:31, 8 October 2007 (EDT)
    • Ahw, no debate?--Riddler 17:37, 9 October 2007 (EDT)

Sylar's Power Loss

I find it interesting that a healing Sylar is finding it difficult, if not impossible, to use or control the powers acquired previous to the injury at Kirby Plaza. Also, after seemingly acquiring "Candice's", he is unable to activate the power. I feel that there are 3 possible reasons for this. Either Sylar is still under an illusion of "Candice," who is not dead, the Haitian or another "power-cancelling" person is present, or he is simply too injured to have total faculties over his abilities. Hard to guess which it is, but I feel that Sylar's mind is still being fooled during his recovery. Also, which Company was "Candice" working with to help Sylar recover his powers? Most likely not THE Company for which Noah previously worked, and Bob apparently does now. My feeling is that "Candice" went rogue (NOT Nissan Rogue, just rogue) with others with powers and an evil penchant. --HandsOffMyPeter 07:27, 9 October 2007 (EDT)

  • I also find it odd how he even managed to acquire the power, since I'm sure all of us assumed he had to use his intuitive aptitude in order to gain it. --Thehoodie 08:46, 9 October 2007 (EDT)
  • After three years of playing World of Warcraft, i had to fix your spelling of Rogue. Personal pet peeve. Sorry.--NissanVersaDootDoot 10:27, 9 October 2007 (EDT)
  • Personally, I think "HandsOffMyPeter" is one of the best Heroes-related usernames I've seen. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:46, 9 October 2007 (EDT)
    • I personally think it'd be best if Sylar was still experiencing a dream/illusion cast by Candice or the Being who might see Molly, but a different explanation is that Sylar was purposely infected with the Shanti virus by the Company.--MiamiVolts (talk) 20:24, 9 October 2007 (EDT)
  • Thank you Ryan, I'm glad someone besides myself cracks a grin when they see the name. Months and months of careful consideration, and finally some recognition... :) , jk. Anyway, im fairly new to the site (definately not to the show), so ill try to be as insightful and pointed as possible, and try not to step on anyones toes. Much love. --HandsOffMyPeter 17:27, 10 October 2007 (EDT)

8 of 8

How interesting is it that Kaito mentions there are 9 left, that his potential killer is one of them, then a Series of eight precog pictures turn up and ONE OF THEM IS BENNETT! could this mean that he could be one of the original company dudes that Kaito mentions? and does that also lead to the possibility that Thompson was 1 of the 12, as well as maybe Haram? I predict Angela, Claude and Bob to be definite stars in the series. --Unfalln 08:48, 9 October 2007 (EDT)

  • All that this means to me is that Bennett must have some sort of power. --Thehoodie 08:55, 9 October 2007 (EDT)
    • Maybe. I've always thought Thompson must have something too (and my speculation suggests something to do with activating powers in other evolved humans given his proximity in quite a few cases). Also if Shanti was special there must've been some sort of genetic consistency. Question now is: Where are Bob's other 18? --Unfalln 09:06, 9 October 2007 (EDT)
      • I don't think there's any reason to assume Bennet was a founder of the Company (he joined it about 15 years ago, as seen in Company Man) or that he had a power (people without powers can't be murdered?)--Hardvice (talk) 14:21, 9 October 2007 (EDT)
        • In addition, Thompson is dead, and there's no knowledge of this? Bennet didn't recognize Angela's voice over the phone in the finale, and if he was one of the originals, he wouldn't be taking orders from a peer (Kaito in Company Man). Who's to say the painting is of him and not someone else in HRGs?--Bob 14:39, 9 October 2007 (EDT)
          • Far reach to assume that the man in the painting in the HRG's is not Noah. Both Mohinder and Noah's reactions to seeing the final painting discredit that assumption, aswell as the painting itself: Obviously Claire and a young man (pressumably West) embracing in the background, and the appearance of the deceased in the painting with a receeding hairline, and the exact same glasses which no one else has worn. Its a bummer that they finally gave in and pressumably gave Noah a power after claiming that they wouldn't, I kind of enjoyed him being the "normal" puppet master of those with powers. Even though they make him out to be a mysterious, creepy, know-it-all, I liked him in that role. --HandsOffMyPeter 16:29, 9 October 2007 (EDT)
            • What makes you think HRG has a power? Being murdered doesn't mean he has a power. Heck, even being murdered by the same killer as Kaito (which the painting doesn't necessarily indicate) doesn't mean he has a power. Even if HRG had said that the series of eight paintings shows the deaths of the eight remaining founders of the Company (which he didn't), that wouldn't necessarily make it so. It's just fan speculation that that's what the series depicts, based on the first painting shown. The middle six could show a birthday party gone horribly awry for all we know. Being in a painting in the series does not mean someone was a founder of the company or that someone has powers.--Hardvice (talk) 16:33, 9 October 2007 (EDT)
              • I agree, however it does appear too coincidental that Kaito announces 8 imminent deaths, then a series of 8 paintings show up 2 of which undoubtedly predict the deaths of people with known Company links. As for Bennett being a founding member, that has been proven untrue in Company Man, but he doesn't need to be a founding member to be included in Kaito's final 9. --Unfalln 19:31, 9 October 2007 (EDT)
  • This is probably just a coincidence. There are too many "but"s. --Looky 19:44, 9 October 2007 (EDT)
    • There's another possibility, and that it isn't Bennet but someone who looks like Bennet that's dead in the photo. It could be Sylar or Candice impersonating him, or maybe HRG's dad is still alive and he was a founding member of the Company? Wouldn't HRG's first thought be to find Candice so he can arrange for her to fake his death? Hmm.--MiamiVolts (talk) 20:30, 9 October 2007 (EDT)

D.L.'s appearance = N/A

Don't see any reason to create an episode summary for D.L., even if his tombstone displayed a wide range of emotion fueled by true method-acting motivation. Okay, sarcasm aside, He dead. no reason to update him.--NissanVersaDootDoot 10:27, 9 October 2007 (EDT)

  • Well, except we ought to update with the fact that he's dead.--Hardvice (talk) 14:21, 9 October 2007 (EDT)
    • Yeah, that was kind of a smack in the face. Maybe they'll do a graphic novel on it? 'Cause that was kinda weak, they ALWAYS KILL OFF THE BLACK GUY >:O.--DarkPhoenix 14:39, 10 October 2007 (EDT)
      • I was belaboring that point with a friend--that, of the original main cast, three people died (a black man, a black woman, and a Hispanic man), leaving a bunch of white people, an Indian guy, a mixed-raced kid, and an Asian guy who's about as ethnically threatening as Mickey Rooney in Breakfast at Tiffany's. Friend in question says it's OK because they're adding more black/Hispanic characters. Personally, I think this makes it worse--it's like minority characters are disposable whenever you want a big shock. That, and I'm now finding the writers' claims that Simone was killed because the story wasn't there somewhat hard to swallow. Perhaps they need to consider why they're having such a tough time coming up with stories for minorities (D.L.'s was pretty thin, too) but not for the white folks? Anyway, a rant for another time. I rather liked D.L. and he definitely merited more than an "oh BTW, he's dead now" moment--which is, incidentally, exactly how it was discussed in the episode commentary.--Hardvice (talk) 15:30, 10 October 2007 (EDT)
        • Race issues aside, I have a feeling we'll be learning a lot more about D.L.'s death in an upcoming episode. I have a feeling the guy didn't die at Kirby--especially considering that he died in 1997, not 1996. I'm curious to see how they explain it. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:30, 10 October 2007 (EDT)
          • I hope we get more of an explanation because I wasn't too angry until I watched the commentary and JJ Philbin was all "oh yeah BTW D.L.'s dead LOL" and moved on. I was just stunned that that was how they treat the death of a series regular. Hopefully, she was just being evasive, not being callous.--Hardvice (talk) 22:41, 10 October 2007 (EDT)
            • Are you expecting more from Regis's daughter? :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:13, 10 October 2007 (EDT)
              • Frankly, yes. She's a writer (and a talented one, judging by Kindred) on one of the best written shows on TV now. She can stop with the valley girl bit now.--Hardvice (talk) 18:24, 11 October 2007 (EDT)

Timeline

According to Wikipedia, "The mention of a football (soccer) match between Celtic and AC Milan, which Celtic lost 1-0, possibly dates the events in the episode to March 7, 2007, which is when a real-world match between the two with that scoreline occurred." Possible to use this as the basis for the timeline, or is it too vague? --DocM 10:24, 10 October 2007 (EDT)

  • Considering the completely fake date for each eclipse (each eclipse being a pivotal moment in the series) I wouldn't be relating any real-world events to events in the show with any confidence. --Unfalln 18:24, 10 October 2007 (EDT)

Article: Fire Scroll

Someone wants to add an article about the fire scroll?, if you dont, i'll do it :)

Claire being shocked by Wests 'mark'

Claire seemed quite shocked by the mark West showed her. Even more by the fact he name HRG as the culprit. At the end, when Noah looks at his painted death, Claire looks at him somewhat disturbed or dissapointed. Yet, In Company Man, she already found out what her father did for a living, including the origin of the mark and the abductions.
What's up with Claire? She didn't get her memory wiped about that, did she? --Martijnvs 05:37, 12 October 2007 (EDT)

  • No. There's a difference between knowing what your father does (and even meeting someone like Matt he's done it to) and finding out that the guy you're falling for is one of his victims. It's probably a lot more personal for her now, and she's realizing just how adversely he affected many, many people's lives. Knowing is one thing; seeing it for oneself is another.--Hardvice (talk) 06:02, 12 October 2007 (EDT)
    • Yeah, I was thinking along those lines. I'll go and watch the episode one more time to look at Claires reaction. --Martijnvs 06:09, 12 October 2007 (EDT)
      • It's a bit interesting that he didn't notice HRG when he nearly ran over Claire in Four Months Later. --Unfalln 16:21, 14 October 2007 (EDT)
