During training, Captain Burke scolds D.L., despite the good job D.L. is doing. D.L. seeks out Burke, appeals to him as a family man, and tries to set things straight, but to no avail. The firefighters take a test which Lieutenant Palmer collects, and they head out to a burning home for practical training.
