Heroes: Genesis is a free online PBeM RPG (play-by-email role-playing game) based on Heroes.

About

Heroes: Genesis is a collaborative writing RPG based on Heroes. In this game, players are invited to step into a world where ambition, deception, betrayal, and confusion sets the stage for a group of strangers who thought they were like everybody else until they woke one day with supernatural abilities.

Heroes: Genesis was created in January 2007 by Randy Nickel, a somewhat avid Heroes fan. The game began with a storyline revolving around original player-created characters. Once the first season of Heroes was finished, original characters integrated with the show's characters. The storylines merged, departing from the canon storyline to take on a direction of its own through the collaborative efforts of the writers and game storyteller.

This group is rated NC-17 for violence, sexually explicit situations, and adult language, but the emphasis is on quality writing and great characterization. All players must demonstrate a mature writing style and attitude both on and off list. Good grammar, spelling, and creativity are important components of quality writing and are minimum expectations for all players.

Players wishing to adopt a show character will need to check with the moderators to see who is available and audition by providing a writing sample that illustrates solid characterization. Villains (both canon and original) will be played by moderators only.
