Four Months Ago...
At the Sanderses' home, Gina "traps" Niki in a mirror, and leaves a note for D.L. that she has gone to L.A. D.L. tracks her down at a nightclub. He finds that she is doing drugs and inappropriately consorting with a skanky guy. D.L. shows Gina a picture of Micah, and she is swayed to leave with D.L. The jilted man throws punches at D.L., but to no effect. As D.L. and Niki descend the stairs to leave the club, the jilted guy surprises D.L., draws a gun, and shoots him point blank, splattering D.L.'s blood all over his wife and the walls of the nightclub.
