Flint and Meredith rob a convenience store. Flint keeps the store's other occupants under control by using his pyrokinesis, for example when he pops some popcorn. Meredith tells Flint that they have to leave. Flint sees that there is a man not on the floor; the man is Thompson, who sprays Flint with a foam-based fire extinguisher before Flint can attack him. Flint escapes, but when Meredith is threatened with Thompson's taser, she is apprehended.
