The Midland police are called in after "Matt" scribbles a terrifying message on a napkin at the Burnt Toast Diner. The officer and his squad aims at "Matt" outside the diner. The real Matt's consciousness uses telepathy to force Sylar's consciousness (and thus Matt's physical body) to pretend to pull out a gun. Seeing this, the officer and his squad open fire at "Matt", riddling him with bullet holes.
