• According to the commentary for Distractions shooting for scenes at Port Washington Harbor was done in San Pedro, California.
• In an interview, Nate Goodman lists Kurosawa's High and Low as an influence for Hiro and Kaito's scenes at Port Washington Harbor. Specifically, the scene used "formal compositions and long takes in which people are coming into the foreground and into closeups, and then receding into the background." Further, Nate felt that felt George Takei was "channeling Toshirō Mifune".
