Ruth Ammon is the production designer for the series Heroes. This job function includes selecting the locations where the scenes will be filmed, as well as choosing set decorations so that the scenes match the intent of the director.

Ruth's previous works include production design for Without a Trace, Weeds, MDs, Crime and Punishment in Suburbia, Gideon, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Snitch, Fly by Night, Strictly Business, Loser, Tales from the Darkside: The Movie, Hotshot, and Hard Choices. Ruth has also been the art director for such fare as VH1 Storytellers, The Music of Chance, Longtime Companion, Vampire's Kiss, The Canned Film Festival, and Somewhere, Tomorrow. Additionally, Ruth worked in various capacities on productions such as Bloodhounds of Broadway, The Incredible Ida Early, Streetwalkin', Hard Choices, and Mystery at Fire Island.

Notes

  • Ruth Ammon was nominated by the Art Directors Guild in 2006 for "Excellence in Production Design, Single Camera Television Series" for Six Months Ago. She was nominated for the same award in 2007 for her work on Five Years Gone. Ruth was also nominated for an Emmy for "Outstanding Art Direction for a Single-Camera Series" in 2008 for Out of Time.
  • Ruth Ammon's name appears on a shrine at the explosion memorial.

Trivia

  • Ruth graduated from Ramapo High School. She later attended Muhlenberg College where she studied art history. She also studied for a year at Oxford.
  • Ruth's first job was working as an art department assistant on the after school special Mystery at Fire Island. She did not get paid for the job, but did receive a moped.
