Samir, whom Daphne first describes as the Moroccan, enlists the help of Daphne to steal items from museums and bring them to his shop so he can sell it to the country it originally came from. She duly does so in no time at all, before heading to the Louvre and spotting the Mona Lisa. She asks Samir for his help in stealing the painting, and he holds on to her arm as she uses her ability to enter the Louvre and switch the Mona Lisa with a fake. After taking the painting, Daphne asks Samir if he wants a lift home, but he declines, saying he'll walk instead. Walking down an alleyway, he is met by Julien and Sabine, who say they've been watching him and he should go with them. To escape, he phases through the floor. Julien catches up with him, and Samir phases through his body, but another Julien clone hits Samir hard in the face, breaking one of his teeth. Samir kneels on the floor in pain, surrounded by Sabine and many Julien clones. Afterwards his assigner promises Daphne that Mellouk will not reveal that she had been working with him.
Samir visits Daphne while she is living with the homeless of Paris, telling her that she isn't a very good thief. She insists that she can take care of herself, but he informs her that there are two people following her, of whom she was unaware. Samir introduces himself and offers Daphne a job, money, protection, and an apartment. She accepts, and he gives her a list of items to steal.
