Characters
- Samson Gray acquired this ability from an unknown victim. (Shades of Gray)
- Therese Bryne possesses this ability. (Faction Zero)
Limits
Samson Gray
Samson first demonstrated this ability on a rabbit that he was going to use for his taxidermy business. When he released the rabbit from its cage, he concentrated and whistled as it attempted to run away, causing the rabbit to stop in its place. Samson later used sedation on his son while attempting to acquire Sylar's ability to regenerate. After pinning Sylar to a wall, Samson extended his hand towards him and whistled, causing Gabriel to drift off into a sedated state of semi-consciousness. It was later revealed that Sylar was simply "playing possum" and was able to overcome being sedated. (Shades of Gray)
Therese Bryne
Therese requires direct skin-to-skin contact, along with elevated emotions, in order to use her ability. The duration of the sleep depends on length of contact and severity of her emotions, ranging from mere minutes, to a week-long coma.
Examples
...and his son becomes sleepy. |
Notes
- In a Behind the Eclipse session, writer-producers Joe Pokaski and Aron Coleite said that Samson's whistling power was "kind of like a Siren's Song, lulling their prey into a hypnotic state."
