|Lydia and Hiro have a common carnival past.|
|A mysterious and powerful Carnival has been intersecting with the lives of our Heroes. 14 years ago, Hiro Nakamura visited this very Carnival as a boy when it was in Tokyo. There he was given a fortune prophesying his heroic destiny.|
But he was not the only one in the Carnival that evening being handed a prophetic message. An indelible bond is also forming between two other young members of the Carnival...
Fourteen years ago at the Sullivan Bros. Carnival, Lydia and Edgar share a drink and discuss Lydia's joy at being with the carnival. She thanks Edgar for making her smile and the two go to cause some trouble for the fortune teller. As they arrive at her tent, Lydia and Edgar find the fortune teller speaking with a young Hiro Nakamura. They steal her crystal ball and Edgar dashes off with it. The two then go on the Ferris wheel and Lydia looks into the ball, seeing a picture of a baby while Edgar sees pictures of a fully grown, tatooed Lydia. The two discuss this with the fortune teller and Samuel Sullivan. The fortune teller tells Lydia that what she saw was what she truly desired and that such knowledge is extremely dangerous. Everyone then leaves Lydia to ponder on her discovery.
