New Page

Threw some stuff together to make this page no longer wanted --SacValleyDweller 20:59, 30 August 2007 (EDT)

  • Who ever threw in the emails and all else but the first line, thanks! --SacValleyDweller 00:59, 31 August 2007 (EDT)
    • No problem, thanks for getting it started. By the way, if you ever want to see who is adding to a page, just hit the "history" tab at the top. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:28, 31 August 2007 (EDT)
      • Yeah, I did that after posting that and saw it was you. --SacValleyDweller 02:00, 31 August 2007 (EDT)
        • I think I'll prepare a page for BBC Two itself, because Mohinder's diary gets updated as well, and there are a few games which you can play and earn medals for (in the shape of the symbol). I'll make it as a user subpage first though. --DocM 07:49, 31 August 2007 (EDT)
          • I don't know if we need a page for BBC Two quite yet. I'm not opposed, I just think it's not needed, especially since even the Bridget/Mohinder's office stuff is only loosely connected to the Heroes 360 content put out by NBC. (I wish I knew more about the collaboration between NBC and BBC.) I think the page you made about Mohinder's office is the best way to go. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:21, 31 August 2007 (EDT)
    • Somewhat off topic, but I'd officially like to complain that the games on the BBC site seem much better than the 'what hero are you' questionnaire on the NBC site. I'd love to play them, but right now it's restricted to UK users only (MAJOR BUMMER!!). Perhaps we can get a petition together to either open up the BBC site to all users or to get NBC to post the BBC games!! Disney42 22:15, 14 September 2007 (EDT)
      • I'd say it'd be even better if it were reciprocal, and NBC allowed users in other countries to access everything, likewise. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:00, 15 September 2007 (EDT)
        • The games are the bane in my life. The only one I've been able to complete is Claire's. Isaac's and Peter's are ridiculously difficult. --DocM 05:18, 15 September 2007 (EDT)
          • They're going to be checking if you're a UK user by looking at your IP address. All you should need to do to get in is find a proxy server thats based in the UK and use that. Munkeegutz 13:38, 21 October 2008 (EDT)

Clairsentience

I have a Clairsentience page in the works, in my user-area that relates to Bridget, if anyone is interested in it. Feel free to add to it, if I have left anything out that should be included. --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 09/20/2007 10:44 (EST)

Canoncy

I've taken the liberty of sending in this question on behalf of heroeswiki.com to CBR Behind the Eclipse regarding her canoncy

Bridget Bailey an new hero?

I am a contributer to heroeswiki.com, a fan created Heroes encyclopedia. One of our contributers, who is British, has spied the BBC 2 introducing a new character in the Heroes universe, a gal by the name of Bridget Bailey with the ability to see the history of an object upon touching it. She has been extensive documented on our site.

Our question for the Heroes folks is: is she canon and will we see her in the show?

hopefully that's cool with everyone here.

  • It'll be interesting to see what they say. :) (Admin 03:01, 7 October 2007 (EDT))
  • Yeah, terrific question. The deadline for CBR questions is Thursdays, so if you sent it after Thursday, you might have to resend it next week. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 08:12, 7 October 2007 (EDT)
  • I doubt the writers worry much about what is and isn't canon, which tends to be much more of a fan concern, but it will be interesting to hear if they have any other plans for the character.--Hardvice (talk) 10:59, 7 October 2007 (EDT)
    • ... or if the American writers are even aware of what's going on at the BBC Two site. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:14, 7 October 2007 (EDT)
      • Re-sent, and I realize that I forgot to sign that --SacValleyDweller 23:02, 9 October 2007 (EDT)

Canoncy (non)Answer

quote CBR Behind the Eclipse link

SacValleyDweller of the Heroes Wiki project has potentially uncovered an interesting character not yet revealed on the show. "One of our contributors, who is British, has spied BBC2 introducing a new character in the 'Heroes' universe, a gal by the name of Bridget Bailey with the ability to see the history of an object upon touching it. She has been extensively documented on our site. Is she canon and will we see her in the show?"

Is the BBC producing content independent of the show?

BBC is producing the content independently. But this is still the “Heroes”-verse so anything is possible. Bridget might be showing up where you least expect it.

essentially: "Could be." --SacValleyDweller 20:47, 15 October 2007 (EDT)

  • Good question. Nice answer. Way to plug the site. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:50, 15 October 2007 (EDT)
    • thanks! I thought I might plug it by representing us;). Probably wouldn't be a bad idea for us all to do that in our corespondents--SacValleyDweller 23:59, 15 October 2007 (EDT).
      • "The Heroes Wiki Project"... I like the sound of it... like my favorate group, "The Alan Parsons Project".... excellent. (Admin 00:00, 16 October 2007 (EDT))

Bridget's E-mails are now appearing on the NBC site as well: The Suresh Files. As of November 2, they are up to the fourth message ("Re: I'm afraid I have some bad news"). So she's no longer "BBC-only". --Psiphiorg 04:51, 2 November 2007 (EDT)

Need better explanation

BBC invents heroes? The main article needs a better explanation - remember this is supposed to be a dictionary, not just a few notes for the incrowd. (And can we get rid of that bionic woman spam on all pages)--IceHunter 09:31, 17 October 2007 (EDT)

more canoncy analysis/info

quoting this site:

The BBC has created landmark content to accompany their Heroes website and the TV series, in the same way creators of 24 introduced new characters and plotlines for mobile.

The Heroes Interactive introduces lawyer Bridget Bailey whose emails to Mohinder drop relevant clues to help users in an online game. Bridget is only available to UK audiences at present, although she is fast making her way across the Atlantic.

“Such has been its popularity that users in the UK are emailing their peers in the US (who are unable to access the games) and the investigation has now become a global collaboration. Fan sites such as 9th Wonders are alive with discussion, fan-fiction stories and there’s even talk that Bridget Bailey might make the transition from the internet to our television screens.” (BBC press release, accessed 13 September 2007)

Not being a BBC property, the concept required careful planning with the NBC creators.

“The character of Bridget Bailey was developed specifically for the site, and we had to run the storylines past the scriptwriters in the US so that we didn’t interfere with any of the existing or future mythology of the show,” explained BBC Drama senior content producer, Sarah Clay. (BBC press release, accessed 13 September 2007)

“As well as consulting with the script writers over potential conflicts, games, storyboards and concepts had to get sign-off from NBC Universal.” (BBC press release, accessed 13 September 2007)

BBC is to bring online more content tied to the show, including a radio show and mobile content.

A concept such as this will help to “deepen the viewers’ engagement with the programme,” Clay said.

so.....now what?

Dates

What are the dates in here suppose to mean? The current events for season two is sometime prior to March 20, 2007, but some of these emails are dated after that time. --Pinkkeith 14:15, 23 November 2007 (EST)

  • who knows, it's dubious whether she even exists in-universe, given the fact that BBC 2 created her independently of the head honchos of our little show.--SacValleyDweller (talk) 02:31, 24 November 2007 (EST)
  • They are the dates the emails were sent, or at least the dates that the BBC Two website was updated. It's a lot like the dates on Hana's website. They don't always coincide with the current timeline. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:16, 24 November 2007 (EST)

Heroes Preshow

Was this Bridget the one shown in a "preview" of what's to come? Angela said that she had the ability...--The Empath 20:38, 22 September 2008 (EDT)

es, it was very obviously her. They heavily implied that she was killed by Sylar, but nothing should be changed until it is shown on the show itself. Therequiembellishere 20:42, 22 September 2008 (EDT)
Anybody have a link to this preview? --Ciwey 03:46, 24 September 2008 (EDT)
I get the feeling that Bridget will show up in the third episode, what happened in the preshow is what will happen in the shows future, and Sylar is in a cell right now and the scene with Bridget happened there. Take it for what its worth -- (User:Alchemist) 08:58 24 September 2008 (EDT)
I'm really disappointed that Bridget is getting killed off. Why must they kill off every Heroes 360 character either as soon as they make a televised appearance, i.e. Gael, Bianca and Bridget, or just before the new season starts, i.e. Donna and all the other agents killed in the bridge explosion. I also doubt that Sylar would ever use the power more than once, such as with Melting. Maybe it's just because I'm British, though. --Ynni 12:57, 24 September 2008 (EDT)
Well, at least her power will live on inside Sylar. I remember reading that Kring originally planned to kill off most of the main characters at the end of each season so they could start fresh for the next one. I think that may be why this is being done--to keep the graphic novels fresh. However, I think there's better ways to write people out of the story than just killing them. Hopefully, things will change.--MiamiVolts (talk) 13:06, 24 September 2008 (EDT)
And, with Adam/Claire blood, time-travel, and who-knows what else up there sleeves; 'death' is never final in the Heroesverse. --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 09/24/2008 13:37 (EST)
Why is this counted as cannon?--Skywalkerrbf 13:43, 24 September 2008 (EDT)
Similar precedence as the Ted/Hana Cabin TV preview, and the Dale Smithers TV preview showings were handled. At worst, the Preshow previews should be no less canon than Heroes 360-type stuff. --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 09/24/2008 14:38 (EST)
I didn't catch the pre-premiere show, but I saw the picture and read about it. I believe this will air in 3x03, so it'll be canon next week.--Bob (talk) 23:33, 24 September 2008 (EDT)
Given the timing, I suspect that Gael and Bianca were written as minor characters and killed off long before the producers decided to give them backstories in the comics. --Psiphiorg 17:06, 24 September 2008 (EDT)
Also, I suspect that Angela believes Sylar is going to need Bridget's power in order to track down the escapees. If he can see who has touched certain objects, he can tell if they're on the right track (if the burnt corpses aren't enough of a giveaway). --Psiphiorg 17:08, 24 September 2008 (EDT)
I think it's safe to assume that the corpse being wheeled away from Sylar's cell in the latest four sneak peaks was Bridget's. --Ynni 18:47, 24 September 2008 (EDT)
I suspect the reason is two-fold: #1, Angela needs Sylar to know she's really his birth mother and #2, so he can track down the Villains. But just imagine what Sylar could learn if he touched the Takezo Kensei sword...--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:05, 24 September 2008 (EDT)

Deceased

It's listed on the Assignment Tracker Map that she's deceased. Though we haven't seen it on the show yet (and I think we will because of the Premiere Event), what do we do with this?--Riddler 17:36, 26 September 2008 (EDT)

  • Since the map is fan-controlled, and what the premiere event showed is a preview of her death, we should wait. I'm guessing we'll find out this Monday. Josh 17:45, 26 September 2008 (EDT)
    • Map =/= Fan Controlled. Fans can add tips, but the official stuff (Verified Tips and Assignments) are done by the Evolutions staff.--Riddler 17:46, 26 September 2008 (EDT)
      • I honestly think we can wait the 3 days until it becomes on-air. In the future, it would be noted on the character page and the AT page, but since we know that we will be seeing her on Monday, I think it can wait. Someone on the Evolutions staff jumped the gun.--Bob (talk) 17:51, 26 September 2008 (EDT)
        • I know I've seen a verified tip with false information. Josh 17:58, 26 September 2008 (EDT)
  • I'm going to get really pissed if she doesn't get revived with Claire's blood. Besides, it's starting to look like they're killing everybody.
    • Everyone being GN and Evolution characters. - Cael 21:09, 29 September 2008 (EDT)

Split?

This page is way too big, I think we should move all the emails to a separate article. But I don't know what to do with the character history. Summarize everything that happened to Bridget before she appeared in the episodes? --Referos 17:14, 29 September 2008 (EDT)

  • We can go ahead and do with her what we did with Hana. Something like Bridget's messages would be a sufficient page, then we can link to that from the Evolutions section on this page. I'll go ahead and do that, good idea.--Bob (talk) 17:18, 29 September 2008 (EDT)
    • I agree, kinda like what we would do for a season so people cam easly read about her before she started poping up in the graphic novels/show.--Skywalkerrbf 17:20, 29 September 2008 (EDT)

Psychometry

Bridget Bailey's ability is psychometry, not clairsentience. They are entirely separate abilities. In fact, Peter specifically refers to Bridget/Sylar's ability as psychometry in Acceptance. We need to fix this. NileQT87 00:12, 7 October 2009 (EDT)
