Template talk:Split
From Heroes Wiki
Necessary template?
Couldn't we just add a new option to Template:Rename instead? Wouldn't that be better than having to keep track of yet another category?—MiamiVolts (talk) 19:41, 4 November 2007 (EST)
- I'm not sure it's necessary either, and the wording "nominated to be split" bugs me—in general, one nominates something for something, not to something. I'm not a big fan of the idea of sticking a banner up for splits in general because discussions about them tend to be a lot shorter-lived than renames—most of the time, it's pretty clear when a page does or does not need to be split. Powers/examples and portals all have general (if frequently unstated) guidelines, and histories and the like split at season breaks. In fact, outside of the timeline, I can't think of a place we'd use this; I'd hate to see a banner on a portal, for example.—Hardvice (talk) 19:46, 4 November 2007 (EST)
- I mean, we could stick this on Electromagnetism instead of Template:Rename, but I would rather just modify the rename template to do the work.—MiamiVolts (talk) 19:52, 4 November 2007 (EST)
- If the intent is to inform people of important discussions (which is a good intent), current events could be used instead of a banner. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:35, 4 November 2007 (EST)
- I just added a "split" option to the rename template, so this split template is now obsolete.—MiamiVolts (talk) 20:41, 4 November 2007 (EST)
