One Giant Leap
After a cold moment with his wife, Matt Parkman storms out of their home and heads to a bar. Matt overhears the bartender's thoughts, and learns that he doesn't want to make small talk with customers. He orders a drink. The telepath then exercises his power by overhearing the other patrons' thoughts. Eventually, Matt notices a mysterious man whose thoughts only register as static — a deafening silence. As the mysterious man in the bar stares intently at Matt, Matt attempts to stand up, but he collapses to the floor and blacks out. He is taken to the secret medical facility.
