Spaces in category links

Hey, IE. There's no need to place a space, or remove a space, between the colon and the category name in category links. In other words, Category: Season One Guest Stars (with a space) and Category:Season One Guest Stars (without a space) both have the exact same effect. If that's the only edit being made to a page, it's really an unnecessary edit. Just thought I'd let you know. Thanks! :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:33, 14 September 2009 (EDT)

Power Absorption

special feature "The Writers Forum" found on the Season 3 DVD, writers Tim Kring, Adam Armus, and Aron Eli Coleite reveal that Arthur's ability is a more developed form of Peter's empathic mimicry and they are actually different versions of the same ability. Intuitive, do you think this means that Arthur can also copy people's power empathically like Peter and Sylar later does with Elle? But he prefers to strip them of their powers rather than mimic them? 21:15, 22nd October 2009 (AEST)

Memory Restoration

From this first time in Tabula Rasa, I saw Damien's ability, I thought yep, that's Memory Restoration. The opposite of the Haitian. You and I think Catalyst think it should have a different name. Can I ask what name you think would be better? I always thought, Phil, you have some pretty good ideas, though I don't agree with all of them (because I am convinced Linda is Sylar's mum and Victoria Pratt is a lesbian, though I doubt she dated Angela. Also Sparrow is Allison.). Anyway, I would like very much to discuss this, along with other theories like whether Bob is Noah's father or not or Leona Mills was Elle's mother. My fiancee, she always says I am little obsessional. Talk to you soon.-- Blood69 13:28, 25 October 2009 (AEST)

Gretchen's future

Hope you don't mind but when I rewatched the episode, I got her quote that she had at least 6 or 7 more boyfriends than girlfriends, so I changed what was written. So do you think, and I know you don't like to guess too much, that Gretchen will suffer the Tara Maclay Evil/Dead Lesbian cliche? I am aware that speculation is not your cup of tea. Just thought I would ask whether Gretchen will stay long term, being killed or suffer mental manipulation from the Haitian in light of the revelation they filmed a scene together.

What's Going On?

Dear Intuitive Empath, Recently, I added a theory to the Illusion page. You have deleted it at least twice. Now, I'm often prone to freaking out for no reason, and I'd like to hear your side of this before I pass judgment.

About Mutants

Dear Intuitive Empath,
I'm an amateur writer, and I try to avoid using the same descriptive word over and over. Eventually, I ran out of words to describe evolved humans with. I know that it's not correct.

I didn't know that. I don't really know too much about discussions with the creators.

What's Going On? Part II

Dear Intuitive Empath,
After going through my contribution history, I discovered that you also deleted my puppet master and super speed theories. Why?

- I listed a theory in puppet master speculating that it could be related to central nervous system control. Under super speed, I mentioned a theory positing that super speed involves manipulating space-time in some way. Sorry for my snappishness; I'd just been in an argument.

-- Okay, I understand why nervous system manipulation is out. However, if someone moved at the speeds Edgar and Daphne went at without fiddling with time, they would instantly die as their internal organs were pushed out through their pores.

  • Ah, but if Ted exploded then surely he would be dead? No, see Rule of Ted. --mc_hammark 15:48, 5 November 2009 (EST)

--- If this were simply ability immunity, then Daphne would have not been able to transport Ando. She would have simply torn his arm off. Also, Hiro's time-stopping works by accelerating TEMPORALLY, not physically. He isn't gaining momentum or speed. If super speed did not have a temporal aspect, then she would have not been able to 'unfreeze'. I primarily object to the theory being killed over a single INCONCLUSIVE piece of evidence. If 'windiness' was a solid enough argument to justify terminating an entire theory, then most theories would be terminated within 24 hours of their creation. If Altes wants to use that statement, then he can post on the theories page. I'm not saying that super speed is PURELY temporal; I'm saying that if it wasn't partly temporal, then Daphne and Edgar would have to have multiple other abilities. First, if they were simply moving at extreme speeds, they would be first skinned alive by friction; then their internal organs would be spewed out the back through their pores; then, when they stopped, their brain would explode through the front of their skull. In order to resist this, they would need impenetrable skin. Second, if they accelerated on a purely physical plane, they would be unable to navigate as their brains would be unable to process the data quickly enough for it to be useful. If their senses were good enough to handle navigation at such speeds, they would go completely insane as the world moved in slow motion around them, making a conversation that lasts two OBJECTIVE minutes go on for several SUBJECTIVE days. This theory was killed unjustly.

Apparently, you only read the first sentence or two of my previous statement. This is NOT ability extension: if that were true, then Ando would have to know every single twist and turn of the journey or risk accidentally having him go left, her go right, and then being spectacularly pureed as they lost contact. If he had arrived, he would not be anything approaching nonchalant; he'd be terrified. Also, I notice you didn't bother responding to my other arguments.

I joined this site to post theories and enjoy the wonder of the Heroes universe, not find out that someone can put the kibosh on an entire train of thought because he wants to.

Dear Intuitive Empath,

You erased my contribution to the fire breathing theory I developed. Why is that, pray tell?

Why did you delete my theory about peter? it might look the same as the one above but it isn't the same..--Yoshi n1 11:46, 9 November 2009 (EST)

Please, do something about it. T_T

  • He might be canon, indeed, but there is a lot of ways to differ his ability to Peter's actually. It's just a touch based mimic power, but both Arthur and Peter got one. Sylar can use empathy to get powers, thought it's not considered as Empathic Mimicry. So why is Draph, with so much differences with Peter's, having the "Ability Replication" ? It's not stated that's what he has, and it is still to be proven that Peter could hold more than one abilities. So at the time, it's not really the same... even more if we look at the "everything else", not canon (yet?). Draph got a mimicry power, but as stated in the show, there might be several, and I don't think it really matches Peter's one.
    • Oh my GOD, how did Knox end up with enhanced strength... ??? O_O I mean, it's stated completely that he has to absorb the fear in order to increase his power... Well that sure is an issue... But as for Draph, problem is that those mimicry powers were tricky enough. There are all those distinctions between Power Absorption, Empathic mimicry, Intuitive aptitude, Ability Replication... While it could just be one power, "Mimicry" then (actually I don't think "intuitive aptitude" is what allows Sylar to change his DNA, it just showed him how to do it...), used in totally different ways by their owners... That's the problem with Draph, if we accept variations with a mimic power, I think it's gonna get real confusing, because one can easily find common points with the other ones... Also, I'm sure you know a lot of persons are disappointed with Peter's actual power, and showing on his page of his *supposed* unique power that some random guy is just totally better with it could be pretty annoying... Maybe a vote ? You're also right for Jeremy, but you can support you idea with tonight's episode. It's not a simple healing, it seems to drain the owner's vital energy in order to do so... But, we'll see about that. ;) Thanks for taking the time to answer anyway. --Kleith 18:07, 9 November 2009 (EST)

Amanda's Father

I apologize if this is the wrong place to ask, but how do we know Amanda's father is a priest. The only information I see about her father is the graphic novel, where Lydia ran from him first. And he was basically the same age as her. If Amanda's Father's page hasn't been updated with new information, then that's okay I'm just wondering. And looking at the Graphic Novel, I'm wondering if he's only a priest because Him and Lydia ran from the church, but that doesn't conclusively mean he was a priest. So I'm just wondering how we know he's a priest? --Dman dustin 11:06, 15 November 2009 (EST)

That usage of intuitive aptitude is simply repairing a damaged system. What I'm thinking of is rather more...impressive. For example: nuclear fusion is possible, but extremely costly and inefficient. The Haitian

Dear Intuitive Empath,
I know that Claire mentioned his name first. What I'm puzzled/freaked out about is that, once she mentioned his name, every other character started using it, as if they had all known his name from the beginning of the series. Theory edits

Hi IE, I've been noticing that nearly every time I add a new theory you edit it directly after. Now, I'm not at all offended by this, I'm simply wondering what exactly you've been changing. There appears to be something I consistently forget after adding a theory, but I still have no clue as to what it is. A while ago I noticed I had been adding <br/> instead of <br /> , with a space between the "br" and the slash, and that was one of the things you had been changing. I initially missed it because changes in spacing do not appear in red like lettering changes do, and I'm assuming that why I'm missing the current error.

I'm hoping you can shed some light on what I'm not doing correctly, so that in the future I'll do it right and save you the chore of editing all of my theories. Here is an example of what I'm talking about. I hope you can help.--PJDEP - Need further explanation? 15:03, 2 January 2010 (EST)

  • Sorry if I'm missing something obvious, but what exactly do you mean by a full stop? Also, I'm not sure if you interpreted my message this way but in no way did I mean to imply that I was unhappy with your edit. Personally, I don't care how my contributions are edited as long as the main ideas are intact. A quick glance at your talk page shows me that you get enough grief over your theory corrections and I don't want to add to that. I just want to fix my mistake.--PJDEP - Need further explanation? 15:25, 2 January 2010 (EST)
    • I get what you mean. I'm used to calling these "." periods, but I haven't been using wikis that long, which is also the reason I was ignorant of the two space thing. Thanks for you assistance.--PJDEP - Need further explanation? 15:48, 2 January 2010 (EST)
  • Two spaces isn't disallowed even though it's old-school. It really makes no difference since it's rendered as a single space anyway. People can use whichever method they want. I think the act of (constructively) criticizing either method causes way more potential issues than the act itself does. So while people are free to convert two spaces into one if they're really bothered by it, the onus of the conversion will be on the one who is bothered by two spaces. Puppet master

When re-adding the rename tag onto the puppet master page, you said "can work the same way we did for heat generation". I'm confused as to what you mean by this, because we changed "heating" to "heat generation" based on the fact that the latter was on Edgar's list. My reason for removing the rename tag was that, in addition to being on an assignment tracker, "Puppet master" not "puppetting" was also listed on Edgar's list. You seem to be supporting the removal of the rename tag rather then the addition of this, can you please explain?--PJDEP - Need further explanation? 20:07, 12 January 2010 (EST)

  • I understand, it doesn't support either name.--PJDEP - Need further explanation? 20:24, 12 January 2010 (EST)
    • I mean that the verb usually used to describe the use of puppets is "puppeteering", so it doesn't necessarily refer to "puppetting". It can't be used either way.--PJDEP - Need further explanation? 20:35, 12 January 2010 (EST)
      • It's a large stretch however. Both "puppet master" and "puppetting" are equally ranked as near-canon sources.--PJDEP - Need further explanation? 20:41, 12 January 2010 (EST)

On my information box I put Space-time manipulation and Empathic Mimicry but none of them link to the pages that are on here.--50000JH 16:50, 18 January 2010 (EST)

Gretchen and Claire

So since there was no correction to the Gretchen and Claire pages, are they an item now? Because the last thing this show needs is another will they won't they! After all look at Zima's last primetime show, maybe the longest will they won't they since Who's the Boss and Friends 10:49, 22 January 2010 (EST)

Why are so many women dying?

Lydia, Elle, Daphne, Niki, Eden, Meredith, why is the percentage of women dying so high, when there are so few young women on the show? --User:Blood69 19:30, 30 January 2010 (AEST)

Sylar and Peter rescuing Noah

It appears these two are set to do so. Even though they are presently unaware of that. Should they save Noah or would it be better if he didn't make it? --User:Blood69 14:02, 1 February 2010 (AEST)

Richard is Samson Gray

IE, is this the link between Noah and Samson, BTE spoke of? Check Noah's Theory. --User:Blood69 21:00, 6 February 2010 (AEST)

Paulette Hawkins is Paula Gramble

What do you think of this possibility? --User:Blood69 09:15, 10 February 2010 (AEST)

Female Reoccurring Characters written out of the TV show

Becky, Monica, Maya, Nana Dawson (Non-Caucasian characters). Molly (caucasian character). Assuming we don't count Tracy is this a trend? --User:Blood69 09:18, 10 February 2010 (AEST)

References question

So I've been looking at references about abilities and that, and I'm not sure what the default is for where to put the full stop in the sentence. For example. "When supercharged, Hiro can teleport a large amount of people. (Brave New World)". So, should the full stop be before the episode reference, or after it, because I've seen both but not sure which is correct. --mc_hammark 21:14, 13 February 2010 (EST)

  • See Help:Cites. When there are more than one cites in a paragraph, the cites should go before punctuation. When there is only one cite in a paragraph, the cite can go after the punctuation. --Radicell 21:17, 13 February 2010 (EST)
    • Right, got it, thanks. --mc_hammark 21:19, 13 February 2010 (EST)

Noah Gray's father

Lydia, Elle, Daphne, Niki, Eden, Meredith, why is the percentage of women dying so high, when there are so few young women on the show? Becky, Monica, Maya, Nana Dawson (Non-Caucasian characters). Molly (caucasian character) gone. Assuming we don't count Tracy is this a trend? IE, is this the link between Noah and Samson, that Samson is Richard, BTE spoke of? Check Noah's Theory. What do you think of the possibility of Paula Gramble being Paulette Hawkins? If it's coming the exposed future is coming true: Sylar or Noah Bennet with Lauren Gilmore? --User:Blood69 23:18, 16 February 2010 (AEST)

Victoria's sexuality

Why is it ludicrous to believe Victoria is gay? She was an attractive woman who was never seen with a man. Unlike the other known founders who had children or lovers. Besides, Angela wasn't always with Arthur. This is unusually critical of you, IE. Please don't be so vehemently disagreeable with something that has yet to be confirmed. As for Mr Muggles, very few people seriously believe he is an Evolved Human. And Harry Fletcher is so unknown, almsot anything about him could potentially be true. Please don't use the term ridiculously. Until disproved, almsot any theories can be considered valid, if some evidence lies behind it. --User:Blood69 18:56, 19 February 2010 (AEST)

Other founders

If the black haired woman is Susan Amman or Leona Mills, does this suggest her to be Elle's mother? --User:Blood69 18:57, 19 February 2010 (AEST)

Fletcher and Mr Muggles

About these two and waffles, I agree. As for Jospeh Sullivan, he was said to be with the fortune teller prior to Lydia. The thing about why so many believe Victoria might be gay, is the fact not so much that she is single. Its the fact that someone as morally gray and I would say evil in fact like Angela would protect her. Why? There are other people who know where the formula is like Bob. Granted she isn't as well protected, which is all the more reason for her to tell Matt where she is so he can protect her. Angela has stated she slept with Kaito, which is why Arthur hates him so much. Or the likely reason, other than he senses Kaito's attraction to her. It seems that for her to protect Victoria so much, there must be a significant degree of self interest. And since the reasons stated above that Adam could get to Bob or even Angela herself, why bother going to Victoria? And if he was, then why not tell Matt? So it can be surmised that maybe Angela who is prepared to allow either of her sons to die (agreeing with Future Peter over the shooting of Nathan, permitting Matt to kill Peter), shouldn't care if Matt finds Victoria. Unless Victoria knew something about her like the fact that they were lovers. It could also show the reason for Victoria's disdain, though this more due to her dislike of the Company for keeping the Shanti virus. It all comes down to why would Angela protect Victoria, when she had no reason to, unless she knew something she shouldn't. Seeing she left the company in 1977, can't be too much, since she was born around 1948 or later. Of course, one could also suggest that Victoria was like a replacement Alice for Angela. --User:Blood69 11:04, 20 February 2010 (AEST)

RE: Victoria Pratt

I guess we might never know. As for Noah and Angela, I don't see them as morally gray. There comes a point where morally gray crosses over. Noah firmly falls into the evil category. This "I do it for my daughter" is too far. And Angela betrayed her own beliefs by helping Nathan during Building 26. Seems to be that they have exceeded things. --User:Blood69 11:48, 20 February 2010 (AEST)

A page for the people who acquire abilities. Those that have the following abilities: Intuitive Aptitude, Empathic mimicry, aura absorption, power absorption and ability replication. --User:Blood69 12:20, 23 February 2010 (AEST)
