Need a little table help

On this page, I need to make a cell to span across all columns. The idea is just a personal page that outlines major things in each episode. I want there to be a cell that spans the table where I can put a header for the season or volume. Can you help? --SacValleyDweller (talk) 22:52, 2 November 2008 (EST)

  • Looks like Ryan already got you covered. Thanks, Ryan!--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:43, 3 November 2008 (EST)

Contacting webisode cast and crew

You wrote a bunch of great articles for the new webisode cast and crew--thanks! Did you contact any of them at all? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:44, 8 November 2008 (EST)

  • You're welcome! I figured today was a good day to get a head start on those. :) As to your question, the answer is no. I did find a lot of contact info., but I figured that setting up interviews needs to be cleared by NBC first so I didn't send anything and wasn't planning to.--MiamiVolts (talk) 22:50, 8 November 2008 (EST)
    • Good thinking. I just wanted to check with you to make sure nobody is being bombarded with emails today or anything. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:10, 8 November 2008 (EST)

Assignment Tracker Map - Alejandro

Hey MiamiVolts. Where did you find Alejandro on the map? I haven't been able to find him. I found a picture on the wiki under Poision Emission Neutralization of a Tip that is not verified that matches the entry you posted. Unfortunately for what was Alejandro's ability, it seems some believe that this fan-created entry for Alejandro is real.

Also, awesome job on the iStory summaries. Great work! --Heroes360 18:42, 10 November 2008 (EST)

  • I haven't been able to load the assignment tracker map today. I assumed it was a verified tip based on it having a photo of Alejandro. If it's no longer on the map, we can revert the changes I guess. Thanks for the complement on my iStory summaries.--MiamiVolts (talk) 18:53, 10 November 2008 (EST)
    • It's a fake. And not a very good one, at that. I reverted the edits. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:52, 10 November 2008 (EST)
      • Thanks for reverting the changes and noticing the fake.--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:25, 10 November 2008 (EST)
        • No problem. It's too bad because I think it's a pretty good name--not perfect, but if that's really what was on the map, I'd totally be behind it. Oh well! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:07, 11 November 2008 (EST)

iStory stuff

Miami--I just wanted to say thanks for completing all the iStory stuff. I know it's a lot of work, and I wanted to let you know that it's very appreciated. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:11, 23 November 2008 (EST)

  • Thanks. The iStory has been having some rather cool writing and art. Hopefully the producers/writers will be able to talk more about it soon.--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:23, 23 November 2008 (EST)

How dare you

  • Ah, what the heck. I was thinking of doing a column for Evolutions depictions, and you practically gave me the greenlight. Thanks for taking some of your time, bytw ;)--Citizen 12:55, 23 November 2008 (EST)

Image calls

Thanks! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:07, 23 November 2008 (EST)

  • Beat me to it. Awesome job with that and with the iStory stuff too. Thanks.--Bob (talk) 00:05, 24 November 2008 (EST)
    • You're welcome and thanks for the complements. Hopefully, Admin can get back to working on AdminBot. Something like the image call fixes sounds like a good task for a bot, but Admin has been busy as of late.--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:15, 24 November 2008 (EST)

help please?

hey, i just made an article on cast changes: heroeswiki.com/User:Tristan0709/Cast_changes. the tables don't match up properly, i.e. the one i marked table one is underneath the second heading, table 2 under the 3rd heading, etc, and 2 headings at the bottom. what am i doing wrong? thanks. - Tristan0709 02:52, 24 November 2008 (EST)

  • You weren't closing your tables, so I changed that. Did you want all the tables to be parallel to each other, or one below the other as they are now?--MiamiVolts (talk) 03:04, 24 November 2008 (EST)
    • Thanks. I think it would look better side-by-side, if you wouldn't mind. also, how would i go about making cells certain colors? - Tristan0709 03:09, 24 November 2008 (EST)
      • For coloring, see Wikipedia:Help:Table#Color.3B_scope_of_parameters and let me know if you don't understand. For side-by-side, just put the tables in another table. I've done that for you so you have an example. If you don't like it, you can undo the change. Also, if you want to make the inner tables wider so the lines don't wrap, you can add a width= attribute to them. You'll have to play around with the number of px to put in the attribute to see what works best for that attribute.--MiamiVolts (talk) 11:36, 24 November 2008 (EST)
        • Thanks. If I wanted to have say, 5 of them side by side, and another 5 underneath, how would it work? - Tristan0709 00:13, 25 November 2008 (EST)
          • Just move the second set of tables into a second master table like the first. Just make sure to put a <br clear="all"/> in between the two tables to ensure proper spacing.--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:17, 25 November 2008 (EST)
            • Thanks, I'll try that out. - Tristan0709 00:19, 25 November 2008 (EST)
              • You're welcome. You could also use just the existing master table and put '|- valign="top"' on a separate line after the first set of 5 tables. That would make the original master table have two rows of side-by-side tables. However, it might not look good cause the side-by-side tables have different heights.--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:27, 25 November 2008 (EST)

DPL help

Hey, DPL expert. Quick question. I'm trying to print the number of the GN on the actual GN page. So for instance, I want "109" to print on the article Graphic Novel:Sum Quod Sum, Part 2. On the sandbox, I have it set up so it will print the name and the number. (I have no idea if that's the "best" way to do it, but it's working. If you know a simpler way, let me know.) Now, I could work some parsing magic to make the pagename disappear, but I was wondering if you knew a better way (using DPL codes) to simply make the number appear and that's it. Thanks, Miami! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:38, 24 November 2008 (EST)

  • When doing DPL searches, it's required to print the article titles when you use inclusion. The trick is that if you already know the article titles that will appear, you can remove them from the list as I just did in the sandbox.--MiamiVolts (talk) 18:48, 24 November 2008 (EST)

Need some input

I think Ricard Desi has an interesting Idea at Talk:Mimicry. I'm buying it, what do you think?--SacValleyDweller (talk) 23:26, 25 November 2008 (EST)

  • I didn't buy it, but I just gave my input and my reasons against it on the page.--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:26, 26 November 2008 (EST)

The future of Heroes

I'm worried for Heroes. I've been loving every moment of season three, and I detest how everyone all around the internet is bashing the episodes for containing non-apparent plot holes, etc. I'm scared, Miami. Mucho miedo.--Citizen 21:04, 29 November 2008 (EST)

  • Yeah, I'm also a little worried, but mainly about what an actor's strike might mean. It will be interesting to see where the viewers go on Monday now that Dancing with the Stars is over until next year. I'm hoping it means Heroes will get much better Nielsen ratings so the press can become positive again. However, Heroes has already been doing terrific in the TAMi ratings, and I think the network and advertisers are realizing that and the big following the show has. Also, I think that with the press, you have to take the good press with the bad, as sometimes a few critiques can help. That said, the best thing I think we can do as mere fans is simply to just to continue supporting the show. The rest is out of our hands.--MiamiVolts (talk) 22:44, 29 November 2008 (EST)

Lightning/Electric manipulation

  • Could you do me a favor and explain what needs to be fixed regarding the lightning/electric manipulation article? I wasn't following the article moves or the discussion so I don't know what's "wrong" currently, but if you explain what administrative intervention is needed I'll take care of it. (Admin 19:59, 2 December 2008 (EST))
    • Nevermind, I figured it out. (Admin 20:04, 2 December 2008 (EST))
    • Oh well, was almost finished typing, lol. For the record, when someone moves an article twice or edits the page an article was moved from, a reversion of a move becomes blocked by the wiki. In this case, I overrided that blocking by using inclusion on Lightning, thus preserving the history without copying the page. What needed to be done now is for Lightning and Talk:Lightning to be deleted and the articles at Electric manipulation and its talk back moved back to lightning. The noinclude tags can then be removed from the page.--MiamiVolts (talk) 20:07, 2 December 2008 (EST)

The syringe

Hey, I just wanted to make sure you weren't annoyed at the syringe discussion. I took your comments to be simple teasing, but intonation is often hard to decipher on the Internet. I didn't mean to antagonize you at all, and apologize if my comments were taken in such a way.  :) --Stevehim 21:43, 6 December 2008 (EST)

  • No offense taken. It was simple teasing; that's why I put in the winking smiley. I was trying to point out I think you are looking at the situation too closely.--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:06, 6 December 2008 (EST)

I want your input too.

Can you contribute to the discussion I'm starting at User_talk:Riddler/Ability_byproducts? The reason it's on a userpage is listed in the first comment. =]--Riddler 01:23, 7 December 2008 (EST)

  • Ok, I gave my input.--MiamiVolts (talk) 03:02, 7 December 2008 (EST)

Thanks!

Thanks for catching the rest of the move! --SacValleyDweller (talk) 01:54, 8 December 2008 (EST)

    • Thanks. It was just one of those half hour wiki projects that I come to me at odd hours. I made Category:Title cards the same way. --SacValleyDweller (talk) 02:02, 8 December 2008 (EST)
      • . o O ( delete an "I" there. ) Yeah, I have those as well.--MiamiVolts (talk) 02:11, 8 December 2008 (EST)

iStory

Hey. I know you set up the iStory pages, so I just wanted to give you a heads up about some changes I made to Anna's page. I removed the excess links to 'iStory,' and I combined the chapter links with the Operation ones to go directly to the chapter on the Operation pages. If you prefer it look the old way (and, looking at it, I'm starting to think it might look better prior to my changes), just undo my edits (or, if it's too late by the time you see this, let me know and I'll manually undo them myself). I'll hold off changing any of the other iStory pages to match this until I hear which version you think looks better. Happy holidays!  :) --Stevehim 07:43, 25 December 2008 (EST)

  • Looks great to me. Happy holidays to you too! (Merry Christmas as well if you're celebrating it like me). :)--MiamiVolts (talk) 10:14, 25 December 2008 (EST)
