*I disagree. I made this page based on a reference in that show, but there are others that are "as strong" that have their own page. For example [[Ray Bradbury]], [[A Clockwork Orange]], [[Psycho]], and [[Rain Man]] all only have one show that referenced the work. I was going to put this reference in a collection, but there wasn't such an article. Then I noticed the mentioned articles and thought it would be alright to start its own article. **Ray Bradbury's influence has been referenced many times, including in [[Hiro's blog]]--it could not easily be incorporated into any one article. ''[[A Clockwork Orange]]'' could probably easily be mentioned on [[Linderman's archives]], but because there are so many other connections to the show (inlcuding [[Malcolm McDowell]] and ''[[Back to the Future]]''), it would become quite an unwieldy note--it's best to have a page of its own so that we can be complete in listing the other connections. ''[[Rain Man]]'' includes pictures necessary to the article which really would be quite difficult (though possible) to incorporate into a notes section. And I don't really thing ''[[Psycho]]'' needs its own page, though I go back and forth on that one. If there were a cast member who were in ''Fight Club'', or if there were any other reference to it anywhere else in the universe of ''Heroes'', I would be all for the page. ***Okay, you claimed that ''[[Rain Man]]'' needs pictures. I think that ''Fight Club'' needs it as well to illustrate how Mohinder looks like a character straight out of Fight Club. I also should point out that the ''Rain Man'' reference is fan cruft. It was never mentioned in the show by any character that [[Hiro]] or [[Ando]] were mirroring the movie. ****Pinky, I don't see much reason to delete the page. It certainly isn't doing any harm. The worst case scenario is that it ends up being a page with nothing other than this one reference. But since you're the one who made the page, and now you're saying it needs pictures, why don't you add the pictures you have in mind. If there really is some shot that shows Mohinder looking "like a character straight out of Fight Club", then a side-by-side comparison would certainly make this page more interesting. And if there really is no good picture like that and all we have is the line in the show where "Fight Club" is used as a nickname, then I would think this page is weaker than the Rain Man one, and nobody other than you would miss it.--[[User:E rowe|E rowe]] 18:20, 24 November 2007 (EST)

But I'm not here to defend my dual opinions from January, I'm here to talk about ''Fight Club''. I've never said I'm opposed to this page, I've only said I don't see the merits in it, and I'm not alone. If the article is to stay, I think it needs more than 30 words which could easily be put as trivia on ''[[Cautionary Tales]]''. I'll add an image now, but I think that if the article isn't expanded or if there are no more ''Fight Club'' references in ''Heroes'', the page should be deleted and the content incorporated into another article. ** Based on the past discussion on [[Talk:Psycho]] we'd probably have to keep this article.  We don't have good guidelines on what constitutes a reference deserving of its own article, so we can't really get rid of this while keeping ones like [[Psycho]].  My belief is that most true references should be simply noted on the article that's referencing the outside source unless/until there is a large number of them at which point they could spawn a dedicated page since their inclusion becomes more relevent to the show.  I also believe that true references should be ones that are confirmed by writing staff or ones that are so explicit that they cannot be coincidence otherwise they're speculative and definitely don't deserve dedicated articles.  (For example though I don't know if it's ever been explicitly confirmed, I don't think anyone who's seen the Back to the Future series would disagree that "Great-o Scott!" after talking to his past self was indeed a BTTF reference.  The Psycho reference, however, isn't convincing unless it's been confirmed by writers or unless the hotel is called the Bates Motel or something... otherwise it's just a plain motel that reminds people of the movie rather than being an intentional reference to it.) ** If there is no disagreement it can be deleted based on consensus (and because there is no actual policy that comes into play).  I personally don't think the reference merits its own article so I would be in favor of deletion if there is no argument to the contrary.
