Carlos MENDEZ

Issac's father? - Goldenboy 12:55, 20 November 2007 (EST)

  • Most likely. --Hero!(talk)(contribs) 12:59, 20 November 2007 (EST)
  • Most likely. --Mish(Talk) 13:00, 20 November 2007 (EST)
    • Ok, that's just weird. --Mish(Talk) 13:01, 20 November 2007 (EST)
      • Nice Hivemind. But yeah, I doubt that's just a coincidence that two Mendez guys are on the same show. What if he had the same power as Issac? Maybe that's how Angela and Charles knew about the explosion too. Perhaps Issac wasn't the first one to make that prophecy? Plus, imagine how bad Issac's home life was with a dad that could see your future. "Son, I found your stash two days from now. You're grounded." "Aw come on, Dad!" --Piemanmoo 18:30, 20 November 2007 (EST)
        • I think it would be stupid for the writers to introduce another duplicate power, but that's just my opinion.--Ice Vision 22:03, 20 November 2007 (EST)
          • That and it only seems logical. It's a TV show after all. If they didnt want them to be related they could have picked any one of a bajillion hispanic names. --Mish(Talk) 22:39, 20 November 2007 (EST)
            • I wonder if they ever plan on expanding this character (no spoilers please!!) or just put the "Mendez" name in there as a tongue-in-cheek reference to fans. Isaac seems more likely to be related to a Group of 12 member than Matt, given his New York proximity and closeness to the Deveaux daughter (I wonder where they met?).--Tim Thomason 20:45, 22 November 2007 (EST)
              • I think it's a definite that this is Isaac's father and how Isaac knew Simone. This would also explain why the company seems to own the loft after Isaac is gone. If dad had the same ability, then he likely died before the events of the show, otherwise the company wouldn't have been so interested in getting Isaac to paint for them. I also wonder if the reason could only use his abilities while high was because dad had placed a block to protect his son.
  • I think he is Isaac's father. Hopefully it will be revealed in Volume 3 :P.--jenx222 12:16, 3 June 2008 (EST)

Not on the deceased list

Joe Pokaski and Aron Coleite didn't say that Carlos isn't dead, they said he's not on the deceased list, meaning he wasn't on Adam's list of people he killed. The question was not about whether or not Carlos was dead or alive, it was about whether or not Adam killed him. [1] -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:39, 14 October 2008 (EDT)

Futurama

  • I was watching futurama the other night and Carlos Mendez's name appears in the credits under Clean-up. Coincidence? I think not! --Isaac Mendez 16:09, 2 June 2009 (EDT)
    • I think so -- By Danko CH 16:38, 2 June 2009 (EDT)

Evolved Human

Is it at least note worthy to point out that Carlos is possibly an Evolved human since he's both a founder of The Company and a father of another Evolved human? --OutbackZack 16:30, 12 February 2010 (EST)

  • I don't think there is a real need to. I mean, the carnies have more of a chance of an ability, but we don't note that. (Well, we do note their "behind the scenes" powers.) --mc_hammark 16:39, 12 February 2010 (EST)
  • We don't generally note something like that until it is confirmed in some way (see some of the other Founders). --Stevehim 16:42, 12 February 2010 (EST)
    • I'm fairly certain some combination of Linderman, Kaito, Angela, Bob, and Maury have stated that all twelve had abilities. --Ricard Desi (t,c) 17:05, 12 February 2010 (EST)
      • Bob actually said people with and people without. I'll see if I can find the exact quote. --mc_hammark 17:07, 12 February 2010 (EST)
        • Actually, Bob said, "The Company was formed thirty years ago with a group of like-minded individuals, ordinary men and women who were gifted with extraordinary power." Some have interpreted "power" to mean being in charge of a powerful company. I think it's definitely worth a note in the Notes section...but until it's confirmed that Carlos had an ability, we need to list him as a human. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:28, 12 February 2010 (EST)
      • Even if Bob said all 12 had an ability, that would go in the Notes section until we knew what the ability was. I think there was a big debate on Kaito's talk page about this way back when, before we knew what his ability was. --Stevehim 17:46, 12 February 2010 (EST)
        • FYI, Kaito should still be listed as a human--his ability was only revealed in a deleted scene. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:28, 12 February 2010 (EST)
          • No he shouldn't, BTE said he did have powers. Green.gif AltesUTC CH 03:45, 13 February 2010 (EST)
            • That goes in notes since it's not confirmed in any in-world source. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:03, 13 February 2010 (EST)
              • Hmm, this discussion has brought something else to my attention, does that not mean that James Walker can't be listed as being an evolved human? Or Sylar's other victim (I think his name was David, he featured in a GN about Audrey hunting Sylar)? Surely if Kaito isn't listed then neither should that guy, or James. --mc_hammark 07:53, 14 February 2010 (EST)
                • James Walker was confirmed to be the source of Sylar's freezing, he's an evolved human. I don't remember how we list David, is he listed as an EV? Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 12:06, 14 February 2010 (EST)
                  • No, that's my point. James was confirmed outside of the show to be an evolved human, as was Kaito. Why would we list James as an evolved human, but not Kaito? --mc_hammark 15:23, 14 February 2010 (EST)
                    • Kaito's confirmation was about a deleted scene, something that was decided not to be put in the series. The confirmation about James wasn't, it was about something that happened and that is canon. Kaito's ability is as confirmed as Arthur stealing Molly's ability. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 15:52, 14 February 2010 (EST)
                      • I wasn't confirmed that Kaito's power was to "see the variables of any situation and predict the outcome", but that he did have a power was. Green.gif AltesUTC CH

Is he maarten?

So does anyone think Carlos is Maarten?--Blood69 08:55, 15 March 2010 (EDT)

  • No. They have different names. They don't look alike. Maarten was partnered with Ivan, and was not a Company founder. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:45, 15 March 2010 (EDT)
