Should we replace every deaths search result by [[deaths]] ? --FrenchFlo(talk)(contribs) 17:40, 11 March 2007 (EDT)

  • huh? Heroe 17:48, 11 March 2007 (EDT)
    • It's clear, now that the page exists, should we edit every deaths word appearance that are not a link by a link to the deaths page ... --FrenchFlo(talk)(contribs) 17:51, 11 March 2007 (EDT)
      • I don't think we need to link every time the word "death" appears, but adding some links is probably a good idea.--Hardvice (talk) 17:56, 11 March 2007 (EDT)
        • Agree. It's just like the other themes: a few major ones can be linked (though most are already linked to one of the victim pages), but it doesn't need to be linked heavily. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:09, 11 March 2007 (EDT)

Rename?

Should we either move this article to 'Death', which better fits the naming standards, or add a redirect from 'Death' to 'Deaths'. I'd say the former. The naming standard is to prefer singular article titles.--Hardvice (talk) 17:53, 11 March 2007 (EDT)

GN:WB4

Shouldn't the Au Co, Vietnam's people that are "C4ed" and shooted by Austin appear in the GN cat of this page since... they are DEAD!!! :) -- FrenchFlo (talk)        17:13, 4 April 2007 (EDT)

  • Right now death only lists people for whom an article exists. If there were an article for "Au Co villagers", then certainly they belong on this page. But I don't think that page is necessary since there's just not a heckuva lotta info on them. BTW, the amount of people listed on death (both on the top and on the bottom) should probably match the amount of people listed at Category:Deceased Characters. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:45, 4 April 2007 (EDT)

Ren

Wasn't Ren's death caused both by the hill and Candice's illusion?--MiamiVolts (talk) 04:05, 2 August 2007 (EDT)

  • The hill put him in bad shape, but there's nothing to suggest that it was his fall that killed him. The nurses said he was going into shock, which was caused by the illusion. Then his vitals were dropping, which really had nothing to do with the fall, other than perhaps he was in a more fragile state. Plus, and this is my own interjection, I believe the point of Ren dying was the writers actually making good on Candice's threat/promise that she could show people things that would make them want to tear their eyes out. But either way, for the purposes of this page, I don't think we should list the causes of Ren's death twice--just once is enough. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 04:18, 2 August 2007 (EDT)
    • A fall could put someone into a state of shock, imho. Just clarifying that then, for the future, if someone hits someone with a baseball bat and another person hits afterwards with a crowbar, and the person is found dead, we are going to always use the latter blow (ie. the crowbar) as the cause of death?--MiamiVolts (talk) 04:24, 2 August 2007 (EDT)
      • A fall could put someone into a state of shock, sure, but it didn't in Ren's case. He was pretty beaten up after the fall, but not in shock. The shock came directly after the illusion, and the shock is what killed him, according to the doctors. I wouldn't make a hard and fast rule about which blow it was that killed somebody, especially since we're not forensics experts (well, I'm not, at least). I would go with whatever story clues there are--and usually writers are pretty good about pointing out those clues or leaving it purposely ambiguous. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 07:20, 2 August 2007 (EDT)

Regeneration and Death?

  • Is it worth noting the deaths of the characters who can regenerate? B/c Claire's died in Episodes 3 & 17, maybe one other, and Peter's died three times also (episodes 9, 14, and 19), and Kensei was dead, I guess, for a bit until Hiro pulled out the arrow. --Spellingbee 00:03, 28 October 2007 (EDT)
    • I guess we could just assume that they were only mostly dead.--Hardvice (talk) 00:12, 28 October 2007 (EDT)
      • You're the second person I've seen reference that movie. I really need to watch it sometime. I've heard good things. (Admin 00:15, 28 October 2007 (EDT))
        • It may not be my favorite movie of all time, but it's easily in my top three.--Hardvice (talk) 00:17, 28 October 2007 (EDT)
          • Oh, for the longest time I listed that movie as my all-time favorite. I'm not sure what it would be now, but it's definitely my favorite comedy I've ever seen. I never tire of watching it. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:07, 28 October 2007 (EDT)
            • Thanks to Tivo and Amazon Unbox I'll be watching it shortly. (Admin 01:45, 28 October 2007 (EDT))
  • Would really like an answer to this question. For instance, Noah dies, but gets brought back with Claires blood. Perhaps a new category "Characters that have Returned from the Dead?" --Mish(Talk) 22:18, 20 November 2007 (EST)
    • I don't know if Noah was ever fully dead. Claire wasn't when Brody "killed" her, and they made a point of making a parallel between those two scenes. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:56, 20 November 2007 (EST)
      • Noah seemed pretty dead to me... maybe a "Temporarily Dead" section, with means of coming back, or just a note saying Peter, Claire, Adam and Noah have all "died" but brought back thanks to regeneration.

Re: Possible Future Deaths

Why is Claire listed among possible future deaths? As has been established with Adam and regeneration, chances of Claire's death are not at all likely. Also, according to the graphic novels, Hana Gitelman has already physically died, although her consciousness allegedly lives on in cyberspace (not yet canonical to the tv series) so why is she listed among possible future deaths? Come to think of it, isn't "possible future deaths" something that cannot be verified and therefore shouldn't be on the page at all? Or am I missing something? - ZachsMind 16:42, 20 November 2007 (EST)

  • Hana and Claire died in Five Years Gone. --Hero!(talk)(contribs) 17:19, 20 November 2007 (EST)
    • You mean the possible future that can't happen now? We're counting that? Why are we counting a future that no longer exists? - ZachsMind 18:09, 20 November 2007 (EST)
      • Because this page chronicles all the (permanent) deaths that happen on the show, even ones that won't happen anymore. --Hero!(talk)(contribs) 18:10, 20 November 2007 (EST)
        • Right, that's exactly the reason those deaths are listed as they are. They occurred as part of the show, but not to the current versions of the characters, of course. I don't know a whole lot about time travel theory, but I know enough to say that there are valid sci fi theories that state that the alternate timelines still exist somewhere in the space-time continuum, even if our beloved characters will never experience them. But even for the purposes of chronicling the show, it's important to note any deaths. I wouldn't mind renaming the heading, but those deaths should definitely be on this page. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:40, 20 November 2007 (EST)

Sylar temporarily dead?

When was Sylar dead? Josh 13:48, 26 June 2008 (EDT)

Regarding Devin's death

Would he go in death by gunshot, death by ability or both?--Citizen 15:45, 2 July 2008 (EDT)

  • I would say death by ability. The German was hiding behind something and shot bullets straight up into the air which would not have hit Devin if it were not for the German's magnetism. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:36, 2 July 2008 (EDT)

Ando

Should we put Ando in the temporary dead section? I mean, in "I am Become Death" they show a scene shorter than the one in "Dying of the light," which I don't think they do very often, especially when it's to build up viewer suspende. TheEvilNoob 18:53, 25 October 2008 (EDT)

  • Ando was never dead. It was a fake sword. Pay more damn attention to the episodes.--Citizen 19:09, 25 October 2008 (EDT)

Episodic Deaths

Should we create a page that shows all the deaths in each episode? (eg. Season 1, Episode 19 - .07% :- Isaac Mendez, Peter Petrelli (temporary). There have been a lot of "housecleaning" episodes and it's getting harder to remember who died when. --Elemental Manipulator [ U | T | C ] - When in doubt, ask BTE 02:38, 16 December 2008 (EST)

Daphne

I see Daphne is listed under gunshot wounds victims. Shouldn't she be listed as a victim of the massive infection she got due to the gun wound? Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 18:51, 24 March 2009 (EDT)

  • Hmm.. that's a tough one, she may have died as a result of the infection caused by the gunshot wound, but that wouldn't have happened unless she was shot. I say leave as is.--Steely McBeam - (talk) 23:43, 24 March 2009 (EDT)
    • Not to be complicated, but we have Claire's 2nd death as mass infection, even though a gun shot caused it, the doc said mass infection, and wouldn't this be the same case for Daphne...again, not trying to be complicated, just consistent--Anthony Gooch 00:10, 25 March 2009 (EDT)
      • Good catch, I completely forgot about that one. Yeah let's chalk it up to mass infection then.--Steely McBeam - (talk) 00:21, 25 March 2009 (EDT)
        • But it's hardly a "natural" death. Daphne was shot by Danko's goons, then Danko had her removed from the medical facility. That's not natural causes - that's depraved indifference homicide. In other words, Danko murdered Daphne.
          • If Danko had injected her with a plethora of hazardous bacteria, she'd have died of massive infection and would be considered a victim of murder the same way. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 20:16, 31 March 2009 (EDT)
            • It's still not "natural causes". She should be moved to "other." ebrown2112 08:52, 23 June 2009 (EDT)
              • Daphne was shot and died of complications that arose from that situation. She should be considered a gunshot wound victim. Ditto Claire's second death. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:34, 23 June 2009 (EDT)

Tracy Strauss

Hmmm.. Shouldnt be listed in Deaths page. How we can be sure if she actually died. Best to remove it from the list until confirmed dead. Hopwas2007 10:02, 25 March 2009 (EDT)

  • Is there any source that confirms that Tracy is still alive? I have heard that she is, but I don't know where to reference for proof. Is she also the "water girl" shown in the Volume 5 teaser? And is there a source that confirms that? --Telepathic Mimic 14:28, 28 April 2009 (EDT)

Nathan Petrelli

This is probably a dumb question, but would Nathan's death be considered an episode death and should he be listed with them as well? --Telepathic Mimic 14:28, 28 April 2009 (EDT)

  • Yes it's an episodic death, but I want to know why he's listed as "Teporarily Dead"?? --Skullman1392 01:04, 1 July 2009 (EDT)

Meredith Gordon

Erm...Why isn't Meredith listed as Presumed Dead? We never actually saw her body. Don't get me wrong, it's highly likely she is dead, but for all we know she survived (Rule of Ted) and managed to get out, like Doyle. What does everybody else think?--Hiroman 13:17, 29 October 2009 (EDT)

  • She was mentioned as deceased in The Natural Order of Things. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 18:41, 29 October 2009 (EDT)
    • I've discussed this, on my talk page, but my main arguement is that Mohinder may have been worng... I would really hope so, I love both Meredith and Jessalyn Gilsig! --Skullman1392 00:11, 30 October 2009 (EDT)
      • Our policy is generally to go with what we're told and not to second guess characters (unless we have a strong reason not to, like they're a known liar, or their memory was erased or something like that.) If it turns out that Meredith is still alive, it's very easy to fix this page. Until then, if our job is to archive what we see and hear, then we need to put that she's dead since that's what we learned in The Natural Order of Things. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:06, 30 October 2009 (EDT)
        • Ok, thanks. I forgot about that line in The Natural Order of Things. I am disappointed though- Meredith was one of my favourite characters! :-(--Hiroman 05:29, 30 October 2009 (EDT)

Charlie

She isn't dead anymore... I have no idea if she should stay on this page or not... I mean, she WAS dead, but according to this new timeline, she isn't... so do we leave her here with a note that she isn't dead anymore or remove her from the page? P.S. I have a feeling we'll have this same issue with a certain Indian... --Skullman1392 14:12, 3 November 2009 (EST)

Women

Is it just me or is there a considerably higher percentage of women dead on Heroes? It seems that almost every young woman shown on tv by the end of Season 3 except Claire and Tracy were dead. 11:45, 24 January 2009 (AEST)
