Trivia

René is Haitian and the actually Haiti's president is named René (Préval). A Trivia? TanderixUTCR 20:20 (Italy), 13 January 2010.

  • Go for it. --Boycool42 14:14, 23 January 2010
    • Actually, I don't know about that one... if we had a Hero called George in S1, would we have noted that he had the same first name as Bush? --mc_hammark 14:36, 23 January 2010 (EST)
      • Agree. René is a popular name in Haiti, as far as I understand. Unless the character was named after the president (was he?), it seems unnecessarily misleading. We wouldn't want anybody to read that and unintentionally think that there was some connection between the character and the president if there really isn't any. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:13, 23 January 2010 (EST)

Where was the Haitian when Sylar destroyed Primatech?

At the end of Our Father, The Haitian/René went chasing after Sylar and disappeared until Orientation. Meanwhile, Sylar destroys Primatech in Dual. What's that all about? --Boycool42 07:31, 22 January 2010

  • The Haitian could have just blocked his powers and shot him. --Boycool42 07:39, 22 January 2010
    • Maybe Sylar can run faster than The Haitian. He did have a head start. --Boycool42 07:40, 22 January 2010

*Maybe the Haitian caught up with Sylar, but Sylar still beat him without powers. The Haitian honored this and let him live...then wiped his memory. Because NO ONE gets to remember beating the Haitian. --Boycool42 14:11, 23 January 2010

The Haitian will make up for it in The Wall. How do you beat a carnival with unlimited power? Take the power away. --Boycool42 14:11, 23 January 2010

Do you think he's in Haiti?

Do you think he's in Haiti right now helping the earthquake victims?--Boycool42 07:39, 5 March 2010 (EST)

  • I don't know about René (are we up to January 12?), but Jimmy Jean-Louis is definitely in Haiti. See here. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 07:50, 5 March 2010 (EST)
    • I think when they bring him back, he'll tell them he was in Haiti. Heroes has always kept up with real-world disasters before.--Boycool42 08:03, 9 March 2010 (EST)

Interesting

It's interesting that we spent months arguing over moving this page from "The Haitian" to "René", while on wikipedia the discussion consisted of only:

So since his name's been revealed (Rene), should this page be moved to Rene (Heroes) instead of Haitian (Heroes)? Of course, the redirect would still exist but now that his name's been revealed, people are calling him Rene and it's not THAT much of a spoiler (if that matters) because we still only have a first name --75.104.162.185 (talk) 03:15, 18 November 2009 (UTC)

No. He is still most well known as The Haitian. Ωphois 09:57, 18 November 2009 (UTC)

Democracy... --Boycool Two little mice fell in a bucket of cream. The first mouse quickly gave up and drowned. The second mouse wouldn't quit. He struggled so hard that eventually he churned that cream into butter and crawled out. Amen. 20:46, 17 June 2010 (EDT)

Confirmed death?

Should we confirm that he's dead or not? Jimmy Jean Louis stated in an interview that this isn't the last we've seen of the Haitian. Just not sure if this is enough to stave off a "Date of death" on Rene's page, especially because he looks clearly very dead. Even if he is revived in the future, doesn't mean he's not currently dead. Or he's just faking it. I don't know! What should we put? LOL! -Sincerely, Thrashmeister » talk- 14:14, 25 September 2015 (EDT)

  • He looks pretty dead to me, but seeing all of the stuff they're setting up like what happened to Noah's memories, what happened at June 13th, and why Tommy was kidnapped as a boy, I fully expect there to be at least one flashback episode starring our Haitian friend. I think we should add the date of death, and then if he gets revived later, we'll just remove it. -Kon (talk) 14:20, 25 September 2015 (EDT)
