Oh, what a knock-off. NBC set up their own wiki. Looks like someone feels theatened. :P -- Cuardin 13:38, 22 January 2007 (EST)

  • And on the subject, I can't seem to create an account there. If I click the Log In/Create AccountI come to the login page, but I can't seem to create an account. -- Cuardin 13:46, 22 January 2007 (EST)

Not News

Although the info about Heroes 360 ("HEROES 360 includes new HEROES Wiki, Suresh Map and the primatechpaper.com website") is good and should be included somewhere on the wiki, I'm not sure that "News" is the best place for it. - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:33, 22 January 2007 (EST)

I just removed it even before seeing your posting here for that reason. :) The news template is for external links to Heroes news articles on other sites. Both links are mentioned elsewhere on the wiki already so we're good. (Admin 14:37, 22 January 2007 (EST))

What goes here?

What should/shouldn't go here? There's a great article at http://www.wired.com/entertainment/hollywood/news/2007/04/magkring but is it relevant? is it too spoilerish? Important enough? Maybe the criteria for `news' should be clearer... Rwun 00:16, 24 April 2007 (EDT)

  • That looks like more of an interview. That's about the only distinction I make: interviews with cast and crew go on interviews, articles about the show go on News.--Hardvice (talk) 00:21, 24 April 2007 (EDT)
  • In general, I wouldn't worry about whether or not there are spoilers in an article. We have to assume that if somebody's going to read an article off this site, they read at their own risk. To me, the fact that it's off site is its own spoiler warning. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:19, 24 April 2007 (EDT)

Appropriate?

CBR articles?

So are they allowed now? Imho, the CBR article referencing the end-of-the-season live blog is hardly more newsworthy than the other heroes-related articles. I thought I was told we should only put them in the Links section? I'd be happy if the admin position has changed--I just want to confirm it.--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:16, 6 June 2007 (EDT)

  • It's not anything specific to CBR -- it's that interviews (like CBR's Behind the Eclipse) belong in Interviews, and news stories (regardless of the site) belong in News.--Hardvice (talk) 01:23, 6 June 2007 (EDT)
    • Thanks Hardvice. That part was confusing me. Though to me, the current article in question is more an op-ed summary of the interview than a news article.--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:43, 6 June 2007 (EDT)
      • The link I added wasn't quite an interview, so I didn't feel it was right to put into interviews. It doesn't really fit anywhere else. Feel free to move it if you want. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 07:50, 6 June 2007 (EDT)

General News?

Isn't this supposed to cover general heroes news and not specific actor/actress news? --  Seclusion  talk / contribs 21:59, 11 February 2008 (EST)

  • If the news mentions Heroes then it's usually appropriate to add. If there were a deluge of news we might have to be more selective, but the news that's there now looks ok to me. (Admin 22:03, 11 February 2008 (EST))

Writers strike

Shouldn't we post an article that talks about Heroes? I mean, the writers strike affects Heroes, of course, but people aren't coming to this site looking for news about the strike. They're looking for news about Heroes. We should post a link that mentions that Heroes will be starting in the fall. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:38, 14 February 2008 (EST)

  • Since we don't have tons of news to actually post, I don't see the harm of it. I can probably find that link anywho. --  Seclusion  talk / contribs 00:40, 14 February 2008 (EST)
    • I don't mind the link you posted. What I do mind is removing something that actually mentions Heroes. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:44, 14 February 2008 (EST)
      • You mis-interpreted my post; I mean I could find a link that mentions when Heroes returns. --  Seclusion  talk / contribs 00:50, 14 February 2008 (EST)

Web Only Episodes - Heroes: Going Postal

Hi, do you guys think we should add this to news. It's about a new 3 part web only Heroes special which should be on the NBC website next week; it's called Heroes: Going Postal.Thanks!-- Hiro  talk  contribs  07:00, 9 July 2008 (EDT)

  • I don't see why not. Some might balk that it has spoilers, but I don't consider widely publicized news pieces that merely mention a title and some background information to be spoilers. Besides, it's already been announced on NBC.com, so it's fine to put in news. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 09:38, 9 July 2008 (EDT)

Pruning

I think some things need pruning, but I don't know what would be safe to prune. --SacValleyDweller (talk) 02:06, 8 January 2009 (EST)

  • Generally, you just remove the older articles when you add new ones. Old stuff about the Premiere and the comicbook giveaway were no longer news so I removed them.--MiamiVolts (talk) 02:18, 8 January 2009 (EST)

NBCUMV press releases

The links we have to articles at NBCUMV stopped working a few weeks back due to NBCUMV being moved to a flash format. I've now fixed our links to NBCUMV for this template to link to displaying the article. It took some trial and error, and a bit of searching to figure it out. To get the links for each release, I clicked to print which opens up a new tab with the desired press release. I then copy the portion beginning with "contents/press-releases/" and use it the make a link like the below URL:

http://www.nbcumv.com/mv/DirectURL.do?method=loadNetworkLevelPage&network=nbcentertainment.xml&releasePath=contents/press-releases/2009/09/17/nbc46comandspri1253214000121.xml

Please let me know if there's any problems.--MiamiVolts (talk) 04:10, 31 October 2009 (EDT)

  • Or, you could use the email button option to get the url, too. And, thanks for catching the '09 mistake in the write-up, tambien. 'ROESian

Heroes Reborn: The Official Companion

Can anyone find a description for the Companion paperback for Heroes Reborn, which is currently scheduled to be released by Titan on Amazon (see http://www.amazon.com/Heroes-Reborn-Series-Official-Companion/dp/1782762922 ) on July 26, 2016?--MiamiVolts (talk) 21:39, 31 January 2016 (EST)
