Matt goes to a cemetery to meet Ted. Ted tells Matt that he found out that the Company uses the mark to track them. Hana appears and tells them that the mark comes from a pneumatic needle that injects a radioisotope for tracking viruses in Africa.
After accessing the Company facility, Matt and Mr. Bennet head to find the tracking system. After neutralizing Thompson, Matt and Bennet head to destroy the tracking system, only to find that it is Molly Walker. Bennet comments that he knew it was a person, just not a little girl.
In space, Hana sends the Company's satellite a self-destruct order, but it fights back with a virus. As the virus infects her system, she jumps onto the exterior, sacrificing herself for all evolved humans.
In 1978, Mindy Sprague saves a power plant from exploding, but causes a major weather change. After awaking, she flees and the Company is no longer able to contact her or find her. The Company founders discuss how they need to have a way to track those with abilities in case something like this happens again.
In 1988, Claude and Thompson finish their mission to retrieve "it" from a special. Once Claude wakes up in the hospital, Angela, Charles, Bob, and Thompson tell Claude what "it" is. "It" is a tracking device to make operations run more smoothly. They inject Claude as he screams in opposition. Thompson writes a report about the device and writes, "The Proto-Type of the Pneumatic Needle Tracking Gun was perfected by R&D scientists... It is widely thought of amongst High Ranking officials as THE Key Piece of Technology within The Company."
In Hiro's ninth blog post, "Memories of Maury", Hiro reports his findings after the Mindy Sprague incident that the Company has developed a tracking system. Hiro believes that this is the moment that the whole game changed for the Company.
