Welcome to Heroes Wiki!

Here are a few links to get you started:

  • If you are new to Heroes, you might want to start at the New User Portal.
  • If you're not too familiar with editing wikis, you might like to start with Help:Editing.
  • If you already are familiar with wikiediting, you might want to try Help:Style.
  • If you're ready to get started, Template:Todo lists some ways you can help out.
  • Of course, if you have your own idea for a new article, that's great, too.
  • Recent Changes will let you see others' contributions as they happen.
    • To make Recent Changes more useful for all users, remember to provide an edit summary in the "Summary" field before you save your changes.
    • You can set the wiki to prompt you for a summary in your preferences.
  • When posting on an article's Talk page you should add --~~~~ or click the signature button.
    • This will add a signature and timestamp to the end of your comment so others can easily tell who posted it.
    • Any new sections on an article's Talk page should be added to the bottom of the page and not to the top.
    • When editing normal article pages, don't sign your contributions.
  • If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to leave a message for an administrator.
  • You can also customize your user page if you like.
    • Additionally, if you would like to add any fanmade content to the Wiki, please do so by adding the prefix User:50000JH/ to the page title when you create the page.

Once again, welcome to Heroes Wiki!

Adding a signature

Hi, 50000JH. One thing that makes discussions easier to read on Heroes Wiki is the use of a signature. It links back to your user page, as well as putting a timestamp that makes it easier to follow conversations. To add a signature, after your edit add " --~~~~". If you click "edit" on this page, you'll see how I do it at the end of this edit. Please use a signature in the future. Thanks! --Ricard Desi (t,c) 09:49, 30 September 2009 (EDT)

  • Do you need help with adding a signature?--Catalyst · Talk · HL 16:24, 4 October 2009 (EDT)
  • 50000JH, it seems like you're still having a hard time adding a signature on talk pages. Please do not manually type a link to User:50000JH/signature. Instead, type 4 tildes (which look like this: ~~~~). If you would like to use your custom signature instead, you'll need to go into your preferences and change a few things. I can help you through that process, or you can read what to do at this link. If you're having a hard time, please speak up, and there are lots of people who are willing to help you out. Thanks. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:45, 25 October 2009 (EDT)
    • 50000JH, it still looks like you are unsure about how to use a signature. Do you need more help?--Catalyst · Talk · HL 17:21, 30 October 2009 (EDT)
      • Why aren't you responding? I can tell you aren't getting how to sign a post. I can help you if you want, but you need to reply.--Catalyst · Talk · HL 11:04, 23 November 2009 (EST)
        • You know I am trying to help you here. But I'm not sure why you are not responding. You aren't signing your posts correctly, leaving other users to fix it. I can easily tell you how to sign a post or even create a fancy signature like I have. But you need to respond, please.--Catalyst · Talk · HL 17:10, 16 January 2010 (EST)

To sign a post, all you have to do, is press the signature button. This button can be found in the edit box between the crossed out "W" and the thick black line. When you press it, it will come out like:

50000JH

That's all you need to do. If you need help understanding more, please just ask.--Catalyst · Talk · HL 17:19, 16 January 2010 (EST)

  • Do you mean deleting a page or changing the name of the page?--Catalyst · Talk · HL 17:43, 16 January 2010 (EST)

First, it added nothing to the theory, everything you added was already there. Second, it made no sense, like many of your messages all around the wiki. Third, it was very poorly written, and since I couldn't make out the point of what you wanted to say, there was no tweakings I could see that would make it more intelligible. • Please use proper punctuation, comas and full stops are not your enemies. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 20:12, 24 October 2009 (EDT)
    • Please, don't make multiple successive edits to a page, you make numerous edits that add little to the original message, it clutters the recent changes page. Try using the preview feature to see if your edits will yield what you want it to. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 18:32, 29 October 2009 (EDT)
      • And again, you've just made a load to the Ability absorption talk page. Please use the preview feature. --Leckie -- Talk 12:44, 19 April 2010 (EDT)

"Deletion"

I didn't delete it, I moved it to your namespace, it's at User:50000JH/Radiology. That's what you do when you want to create fanpages. In your case, pages are always to be named "User:username/pagename", in your case, "User:50000JH/pagename". Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 16:45, 18 January 2010 (EST)

  • Hey, it looks like you are still creating straight into the mainbody of Heroes Wiki. I have moved the pages (Template:Limits and Template: Characters) that you made into your namespace. Please remember to add "User:5000JH/" first when you are creating a page like that. --Leckie -- Talk 17:01, 18 March 2010 (EDT)

How to add a link

If you are wanting to add a link, then you need to make sure that the name you type between the square brackets is the same name as the page you want to link it to. --mc_hammark 16:54, 18 January 2010 (EST)

  • That's it. You done it absolutely right with the freezing link. --mc_hammark 16:55, 18 January 2010 (EST)

Signature

Hey 50000JH, I've just had to add your signature to a talk page... you've also been notified several times, Please can you add your signature to a talk page whenever you edit it. It makes it a lot easier to follow a talk page and the articles on there. All you have to do is type four tildes, ~~~~~ these things. Its not hard, so please start doing this in future. --Leckie -- Talk 16:32, 5 September 2010 (EDT)
