I don't know if I would make this a disambig page. I know that's what Lostpedia did, but I don't think it fits correctly. We have a very organized portal system, it might work best as a portal (or at least a modified one). Another option, which I like a lot, is to make it a simple list, similar to the way Memory Alpha did theirs--only ours would be a much shorter list, of course. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:46, 14 April 2007 (EDT)

  • I was thinking originally about the idea of a portal, but since we have events, those two kinda tie in together. The timeline's not really an event, it's more of a collection of events. Maybe make Timeline a portal, with events as a category in that portal?? Just a thought, I know the Events portal is well done. --Bob 16:56, 14 April 2007 (EDT)
    • Or the other way around works, too: add a small portal link to the bottom of our events portal. Either way would work, doesn't matter to me. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:53, 14 April 2007 (EDT)
      • That's what's done now, which would work. I guess for this page I'll just make it a list (as suggested) and use a template for the timelines.--Bob 18:13, 14 April 2007 (EDT)

The Big Switch

So what does everybody think of what Bob has done here? Personally, I like it a lot. It's a lot cleaner and much easier to navigate. It causes some minor linking issues (it's not a clear jump from the infobox event template), but no more problems than we already have. I would also restore the periods to the sentences, but that's another story. :) Whatever decision we make, it'd probably be a good idea to decide before Monday. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:33, 20 April 2007 (EDT)

  • Yeah, I figured I'd touch it up a bit today and Sunday before the episode airs (I have a lot of Air Force stuff on Saturday). After looking at it, there really aren't any incomplete sentences (there may be a handful of them), so I can actually go ahead and take care of that Sunday when I don't have anything to do (add periods, complete incomplete sentences). As for the infobox event links, I think that this format makes the Timeline article template lagniappe, so it would just require some tweaking of the infobox template to compare month and year in order to go to a specific page and link to the section.--Bob 15:40, 20 April 2007 (EDT)
    • "Lagniappe", now there's a colloquialism for ya! ... Yeah, it's really not that big of a deal, just something that needs to be fixed--actually it needs to be fixed whether we switch the timeline or not. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:51, 20 April 2007 (EDT)
  • I also really like it and think we should switch ASAP (especially if we decide to convert pseudonamespaces to namespaces, since we're going to have a 'Timeline:' pseudo now). As for links from the infoboxes: this is what God and/or Jimbo made section redirects for, amiright? That reminds me, I need to ask Admin about the date reflexes before we move this...--Hardvice (talk) 16:22, 20 April 2007 (EDT)
    • I'm definetely for switching it. Heroe!(talk) 19:34, 20 April 2007 (EDT)
  • Just a thought about the infobox event template. For this season, there really aren't that many events to link to the timeline. So for the time being, would it be possible to manually link to the section breaks in the timeline? That should give us time during the season break to come up with a better means of linking.--Bob 16:29, 21 April 2007 (EDT)
    • Yeah, I suppose that would probably be a good idea. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:41, 21 April 2007 (EDT)
      • Why didn't we move this page? Heroe!(talk) 11:32, 23 April 2007 (EDT)
