Hi Orne! Welcome aboard!--Hardvice 14:19, 6 November 2006 (EST)

Mr. Walker

  • Good idea for a cap. Thinking about doing a gallery for Sylar's victims by any chance?--Hardvice (talk) 23:47, 8 November 2006 (EST)
    • Come to think of it, Sylar's victims would make a nice plot point article. We could list some of the speculation re: eating brains and all, and the theory that Sylar killed Chandra.--Hardvice (talk) 23:48, 8 November 2006 (EST)
      • Well, I just wanted to fill in an image of Molly's father, but that's not a bad idea. We've been deleting the shows off our DVR after we watch them, so I've been clipping the trailers and such for images. --Orne 23:51, 8 November 2006 (EST)
        • I've got 'em in iTunes. I can see if I can get some more caps. So far we have Mr. and Mrs. Walker, Future!Isaac, the FBI agent who was guarding Molly, and Fresco the not-a-real-victim-of-Sylar-victim, correct? PS: thanks again for all your hard work (and for filling in the edit summaries--nobody remembers to do that!)--Hardvice (talk) 23:56, 8 November 2006 (EST)
          • I try to remember, Hardvice... I'm getting better! :) (Admin 00:01, 9 November 2006 (EST))
            • I have no room to talk. I had to turn on the reminder in my preferences.--Hardvice (talk) 00:10, 9 November 2006 (EST)
          • Thanks folks, I do what I can.. having a blast filling in the gaps in the story. But for now, I need to get some sleep, work comes early... how else will I edit Heroeswiki during the day?  ;) --Orne 00:14, 9 November 2006 (EST)

Timelines

  • If it would be helpful, I could make this timeline extension available here. (Admin 09:49, 9 November 2006 (EST))
    • Looks interesting, but I was thinking more of a list of dates for now. I'd try to find a screen cap of Hiro concentrating really hard for the image, and a memorable quote of Hiro saying how time travel acts in a circle. For external links, I'd put in a link to Brief History of Time or maybe The Fabric of the Cosmos --Orne 09:58, 9 November 2006 (EST)
      • I really admire the timeline you have ... any thoughts of putting it on as a regular page? I'd love to help if I can ... - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:12, 29 November 2006 (EST)
        • I second that opinion. It's a very good idea. (Admin 23:21, 29 November 2006 (EST))
          • Thank you, thank you, thank you for making the timeline public! Makes life much easier! :) ... I just noticed you're from PA - me too - I'm from the Lebanon area. - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:06, 30 November 2006 (EST)

Renames

  • Without some sort of naming convention, it is nearly impossible to accurately link articles. See Lostpedia's page authoring for examples.
    • Since you asked me to look, it appears that you are in violation of Rule #1 of the WikiPedia General Conventions, don't capitalize second and subsequent words. We can't help that we have so many articles with "the" in front of them, so maybe those articles can be renamed. --Orne 23:42, 14 November 2006 (EST)
      • I may have been a little overzelous, but you might want to relook up the term Proper Noun. Most of them are indicating specific entities.--Blackthir13en 01:00, 15 November 2006 (EST)

Howdy

  • I cleaned up the redirects for Hiro and Genesis. Can you take a look and let me know what you think?
    • I like it!
  • I added Category: Timeline for November 8th if you want to use it for your timeline project.
    • Thanks! I have a few ideas floating...

--Hardvice (talk) 18:35, 9 November 2006 (EST)

Page Width

  • When you get a chance, take a look at Portal:Plot Points Test and let me know how it looks.--Hardvice (talk) 13:00, 15 November 2006 (EST)
    • It all fits perfectly in my browser. Thanks! --Orne 14:39, 15 November 2006 (EST)
      • The only problem is it doesn't scale up for other resolutions. I'll switch the portals for plot points and locations for now until we come up with a better fix, though.--Hardvice (talk) 14:49, 15 November 2006 (EST)

New actor pages

Seeing as how my current project is going through Category:Stubs and cleaning it up; it really isn't helpful for you to create a busload of new stubs. Could you at least try to put a little work into them, such as search for pictures and write a mini-biography? ---- Ohmyn0.jpgOhmyn0talk.jpg 17:51, 30 November 2006 (EST)

Ah, my goal was to go through Special:Wantedpages and clean up the references w/out articles. I'll stop. --Orne 17:54, 30 November 2006 (EST)
Whoah. That seems pretty uncalled for. All contributions are good contributions.--Hardvice (talk) 19:17, 30 November 2006 (EST)

Auto Noimage

  • We should go ahead and do all the sidebars if we're going to do any. Personally, I think adding the category would be less work since it doesn't matter if the category gets added twice, but either way works.--Hardvice (talk) 15:30, 1 December 2006 (EST)
    • Ok.. well, we can always change them back if need be. I'm just thinking of ways to make it easier to flag the pages that need images, and the Category seems to do the trick (and you're right, having the category multiple times has no effect, but including the noimage template does) --Orne 15:34, 1 December 2006 (EST)
      • I have no strong preference. I'd prefer the template, since it makes it clearer, but it'll be more work keeping up with it (and I can't think of any easy way to get a list of articles with two template calls ... we'd just have to go through all the Articles Without Images periodically.)--Hardvice (talk) 15:39, 1 December 2006 (EST)
      • Scratch that. There aren't that many and we watch recent changes pretty closely. The template it is!--Hardvice (talk) 16:36, 1 December 2006 (EST)

Thanks!

Orne, thanks for helping with my little to do list ... much appreciated! - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:25, 10 December 2006 (EST)

December 30, 2007

  • You're on Christmas vacation until December 30, 2007?! I wish my Christmas vacations lasted a whole year! (Admin 21:44, 26 December 2006 (EST))
    • Bah Humbug! --Orne 21:45, 26 December 2006 (EST)

New Pages

Thanks so much for adding so many of the new pages - what a big help that is! - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:43, 2 January 2007 (EST)

Standard Image Size

Hey, Orne. Great job on the new page. If it's possible, could you please reupload Image:MattMedicalFacility.jpg at 450 x 350? We're trying to get our image sizes standardized for the portals and sidebars. Thanks! - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:50, 12 January 2007 (EST)

For the life of me, I can't figure out why I redid it at 440x350. I'll get it fixed right away. --Orne 19:26, 12 January 2007 (EST)

StringFunctions

I've installed the WikiMeta:StringFunctions extension you asked about here. Enjoy! :) (Admin 00:38, 17 January 2007 (EST))

  • Hey, Orne. You interested in becoming an Administrator here? (Admin 19:34, 20 January 2007 (EST))
    • Sure! I promise to behave  ;) --Orne 10:37, 21 January 2007 (EST)
      • Ok, you're an administrator now. Welcome aboard. :) (Admin 10:53, 21 January 2007 (EST))
        • Welcome aboard, Orne -- now you'll have to promise to impart to me all your wisdom about template... :) - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:01, 21 January 2007 (EST)

Howdy

  1. Congrats and welcome to the club.
  2. Can you take a look at Template talk:Newepisode? It's driving me crazy, and I am 100% sure I'm just forgetting something.--Hardvice (talk) 03:13, 23 January 2007 (EST)

Image:HanaGitelmanLive.jpg

Hey, Scott. Do you happen to still have that great pic of Hana from the preview for the preview? (You uploaded it as Image:HanaGitelmanLive.jpg.) It's the only pic remember of her with the mark, and I think it would look great on the mark and AWI's needle. If you still have it, do you mind reuploading it? Thanks! - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 07:20, 24 January 2007 (EST)

9

Thanks for cleaning up the 9 article. I was thinking about going back and arranging it in tables like the main theories page. But after seeing it now, it looks really good as it is. If a lot more gets added, and if people need to be able to present supporting points and counter points for theories, then the table format might become necessary. But for now you've really made it what it should look like.--E rowe 13:11, 29 January 2007 (EST)

Primatechpaper.com

  • Whoah. Nice work! It looks like a real article now!--Hardvice (talk) 15:29, 30 January 2007 (EST)
  • Yes, very nicely done! (Admin 15:35, 30 January 2007 (EST))

Welcome Back!

Hey, Scott, welcome back. Hope you've gotten caught up at work. You enjoying all the snow? — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:28, 19 February 2007 (EST)

  • Actually, I have the day off... turns out we've exchanged Good Friday for Presidents Day on the corporate holiday calendar. As for the snow, I didn't mind the snow... Its the rain that turned the snow into three inches of ice that ruined my day.  :) As for work, one project is winding down with writups due in a couple of weeks (the short of it is I've been researching the effects of long-distance electric power exchanges from Illinois east to the PA and NJ markets, and how it impacts our neighboring utilities around the Lake Erie transmission loop), so hopefully I can get back into editing again (though it looks like the Requested Page log is well cleaned out) --Orne 10:37, 19 February 2007 (EST)

Finding Copy/Pasted Articles

Here a site I use as a web designer to check content to see if it was copy/pasted from another site. I thought you might find it useful. Copyscape --Xmuskrat 14:53, 26 March 2007 (EDT)
