Welcome to Heroes Wiki!

Here are a few links to get you started:

  • If you are new to Heroes, you might want to start at the New User Portal.
  • If you're not too familiar with editing Wikis, you might like to start with Help:Editing.
  • If you already are familiar with wikiediting, you might want to try Help:Style.
  • If you're ready to get started, Template:Todo lists some ways you can help out.
  • Of course, if you have your own idea for a new article, that's great, too.
  • Recent Changes will let you see others' contributions as they happen.
    • To make Recent Changes more useful for all users, remember to provide an edit summary in the Summary field before you save your changes.
    • You can set the Wiki to prompt you for a summary in your preferences.
  • When posting on an article's Talk page you should add ~~~~ or click the signature button.
    • This will add a signature and timestamp to the end of your comment so others can easily tell who posted it.
    • When editing normal article pages, don't sign your contributions.
  • If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to leave a message for an administrator.
  • You can also customize your user page if you like.

Once again, welcome to Heroes Wiki!

Smörgåsbord

Thanks for bringing that mistake to my attention. I believe it's fixed now, though you can check to make sure. Let me know if you find any other mistakes. Thanks! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:35, 3 August 2007 (EDT)

Good luck!

  • Hey, good luck learning the wiki syntax. Most of it is pretty easy once you get exposed to it and being able to compare what you see to the code makes it even easier to reverse engineer it. If you need to test out any wikitext, feel free to experiment in the sandbox. (Admin 21:21, 27 October 2007 (EDT))
  • When I learned Albanian, I found it very helpful to ask questions. If you ever want to know why something is a certain way, or what the purpose of something is, please don't hesitate to ask. Welcome aboard! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:25, 27 October 2007 (EDT)

User Box Info

Thx for the nice comment on my talk page. So, I've got a question: do you know why with the User Box setup it seems I can only list your favorite color? B/c I used the same formatting for the other things I wanted to note, and only the favorite color note shows up, which I find strange. I think that regardless of whether they actually show up, you can see the coding when you go to edit my page. --Spellingbee 00:10, 28 October 2007 (EDT)

  • The variables you added (fruit, sport, magazine) are not yet part of Template:User infobox. I'll go ahead and add the for you, and you should see them show up. You might need to refresh your browser, though (hit F5 or CTRL+F5). If you care to look at the changes I made, check out this link. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:13, 28 October 2007 (EDT)

politics!

"The word 'politics' is derived from the word 'poly', meaning 'many', and the word 'ticks', meaning 'blood sucking parasites’." Oh god, that was hilarious! Did you make that up? :D --Hero!(talk)(contribs) 19:42, 29 November 2007 (EST)

User box colors

  • Okay, I added some color customization. To change the colors, add this to the template:
| background color = <!-- color name or HEX number -->
| background border = <!-- color name or HEX number -->
| blurb color = <!-- color name or HEX number -->
| blurb border = <!-- color name or HEX number -->
| about color = <!-- color name or HEX number -->
| about border = <!-- color name or HEX number -->

Let me know if you need more help... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:45, 17 March 2008 (EDT)
